Sorry, but your game really doesn't have an amazing competitive scene, all in your head.

I didn't know od, ag, aerugo, horal, varve, yuzu, or probably other words on that board were words either. Probably a ton of words on all the other boards I didn't know of either. That's the thing about scrabble, it's a game primarily about memorization. It uses other factors as well, but if you don't know words are or how to spell them, it doesn't matter how good at math you are, or whatever the heck they claimed the other skills were that made it such a supposedly skillful game.

It’s racist to insinuate that only white people are intelligent enough to play Scrabble.

Not every single one of people above you commenting the correlation about intelligence -> scrabble. This is what jay-z was talking about, it's not other that puts you down, but yourself.

It's amazing that they play open boards. I thought in most cases they'd consider blocking during mid game. Blocking is a good option but isn't always a disadvantage to the opponent only but to yourself as well.

I kinda want to get into things like scrabble and chess, it just seems so fulfilling (like most things you put time into for yourself) actually seeing the progression in your gameplay.

When I was Primary 5 my school sent me for a Scrabble competition. I remember losing one of the games until I played the word crimson with a blank tile which formed "crimsons". Not sure about the rules of professional scrabble but in that competition if you were challenged for the existence of a word and the word exists, you get double points. "Crimsons" alone gave me 35 points. My opponent challenged me and I got 70 points as a result and I eventually won. Felt great back then

I played a game online where my opponent had about a 100 point lead on a closed board at the end of the game. Managed to open up a triple and I played all my tiles for something like 110, plus all the points for the letters they had left, won by a couple. What's particularly interesting is probably any other move they make wins the game, as it's the only instance I can think of of someone making the worst move possible.

Me (No, not Ashildr, I had the name before Doctor Who, and I'm not changing it!) Yes I think it's in the rules here in South Africa too, a lot of things are allowed in America so honestly I wouldn't be surprised.

i don't think abbreviations or slang words are normally allowed, i think its just your perception on whether or not these words are abbreviations or slang words is skewed.

Today I got the letters that spelt out MEDIANS which not only gave me a bingo, I also placed it in the triple letter at the middle bottom, giving me a triple letter, and adding to that was a double letter D which gave me 4. All of that together, I already got alot but it doesnt end there. Above the middle bottom triple letter was OIL and so it got mixed in with MEDIANS, which gave me both OILS and MEDIANS. All of it together, I got 98 points. In one try. I just learnt how to play scrabble in June of this year so im not too good but this is my second ever bingo and my highest point
