This honestly is one of the best, if not THE BEST, Photoshop retouching tutorials on KZbin. Not overly complicated and confusing. It's also not overly simplistic like it's made for people who are already extremely familiar with Photoshop. So many videos are labeled "for everyone!" and two minutes in you're like-wait-I'm not a graphic designer with 11 years of experience. LOL. It's specific when it needs to be and general when it needs to be. Thank you for this!

Wow. This is the most useful tutorial on KZbin I've come through on skin retouching. All retouchers are giving awful plastic tutorials. If you see most of the high-end editorial work (Armani, Versace, Gucci and whatnot), the skin looks incredibly natural. And this tutorial is so close to that. Thanks!

correct me if i am wrong but before we do anything with the skin textrue or adding layers or masks wich helps us to retouch the skin with thiese, i heard it is better to first clean out the original picture from those skinn issues or that step can be skipped? becasue some of the designers are first prefer to clean up the images before retouching with your mentioned methods. Can you tell me why? :)

realy great tutorial. but if I do the apply image at the start, it doesnt work. i cant choose scale and my picture gets this strange photo negative look. can you help me with this?
@EricVasquezDesign8 жыл бұрын
Thanks Danny and hopefully I can help out with your question. When you first do the Apply Image effect, make sure your Source layer (in the dialog box that pops up) is set to the middle layer with the blur effect and not the default target layer which I believe is 'Merged'. Also check to see if your Blending is set to a Subtract Blend Mode in the same dialog box before applying the effect. Once you apply it, check to make sure that the Blending Mode of your top Texture layer gets changed to Linear Light Mode.
@MrDanny0818 жыл бұрын
+Teach Me To Design thanks for the fast response. subscribed immidiatly just for this. also it worked! so thanks very much. it stayed black when it looked like highpass in yours, but that only is after the alterations in the apply image menu. so thank you very much.

But I think somewhere my settings or something changed because after duplicating the layer in smart object for gaussian blur and make one for texture I am not able to retouch or nothing is changing when I am working in the blur layer...... not with the retouch panel or when I make something with the lasso it isnt blurring the spots but only making the lasso place darker.... can someone help me out??!

Thank you so much for making this video. It is so comprehensive that I learned more in this one tutorial than the hundreds I've watched. Thank you so much. Question, when I use the clone stamp tool, the area I am trying to clone out is a little blurry. For example, I'm not able to completely get rid of stray hair like you at 15:35. Instead, there is still some dark blurry spots where I tried to clone out. Any help on this is appreciated
@EricVasquezDesign8 жыл бұрын
+TetsusaigaDrgn - thank you so so much for the wonderful feedback on the tutorial video. I am so happy to hear that it helped and I appreciate your support. I was going back to take a look and I think what may be causing the problem is the layer that you are trying to clone or the 'source' layer. Please check to make sure that you aren't cloning while on the 'D&B' layer which appears gray and is set to an Overlay Blend Mode. Instead, make sure that you are working on the merged copy at the very top of the layers palette. I think that may be the issue?
@TetsusaigaDrgn8 жыл бұрын
Teach Me To Design thanks for replying. i hope you can make another comprehensive tutorial like this one when you have time. as a person that only used PS a dozen time, your tutorial really helped. btw, i saw another tutorial that used "dust and scratch" instead of "gaussian blur". any idea why?

@EricVasquezDesign7 жыл бұрын
+Goo Maral the layout will be the same whether you are on a MacBook, iMac, or PC. It may be that you have a different workspace preset selected. The workspace I tend to stick with is the 'Essentials' workspace which should give you the same layout.

Hi, all seems good, until my second lasso, I click blur>gaussian blur and when I change the blur radius it only changes on the first lasso.. followed every other instruction, please help!!
@dmitribortnic64598 жыл бұрын
At the part with "Select with Lasso Tool, then apply Gaussian Blur", after you apply it the first time, the second time after you select an other area, press "Ctrl+F" to reapply the last used filter. It will save a lot of time.
@EricVasquezDesign8 жыл бұрын
+Dima Bortnic thanks for your comment! You are absolutely right that Command/Ctrl + F will re-apply the most recently used filter, however, the only reason I didn't do this is because it will apply it with the same settings that you just used as well. Depending on how large or small the area is that you are selecting you will want to change the amount of blur each time.

@EricVasquezDesign7 жыл бұрын
