The felted soap is legit. The wool felts with soap & agitation. You'll need to rub it in that nylon stocking for a while. I made a wool cat toy ball like this (no soap inside). Soap changes ph of the wool & helps it felt together.

I like the idea of single use dishwasher/ dish soap, because I work with adults with cognitive disabilities and some really struggle to measure. HOWEVER, taking soap out of the freezer would be just as confusing so... never mind. We will stick with the tabs made by soap companies.

I was thinking some of the ones Like the one sticking the small piece in a sponge can help some people with adhd make tasks fun enough to keep doing it
@alenazwiep2996 Жыл бұрын
@@nepune93 How would that make it fun? I mean, the problem with washing dishes by hand is there are 23 individual items to wash, wet food feels gross, sponges are breeding grounds for bacteria, and in three hours there will be even more dishes to wash (which is depressing). Sliding a piece of frozen soap (so, a cold, slimy item, which might not want to come out of the ice tray, thus increasing stress) into a sponge will not make any of those things better. I honestly don't see what part of this you think would be "fun". ...And yeah, you can buy bags of single-use dishsoap pods at the store lol
@nepune93 Жыл бұрын
@Alena Zwiep the novelty of it. I have adhd myself and I've noticed that if I switch up the tools I use to clean I'm more likely to do it. Yeah all the slimey food and stuff is still there but at least there's a new thing about the task and it's not just repeating the same thing for the thousandth time.

I went to grade school in the 1970s, and our soap dispensers used to give us a tiny shaving of soap (I don't know if they were loaded into the dispensers in tiny sheets or if it shaved a bit of soap each time) to wash our hands in the washroom. That confetti single-use soap reminded me of that, but I bet it smells nicer than the industrial-type shaved soap we had back in the Olden Times.

Hi Katie, new to the channel and I really like it. I "made" a kind of a soap yesterday- but since I live in the middle of the jungle in Costa Rica, I have no access to a postal service or any place that sells melt and pour soap base. So... I'm sure this is some kind of soap crime, but I melted a regular $1 soap bar from the corner store in a double boiler, mixed used coffee grounds into it, and poured it into an old yogurt pot. It re-solidified so quickly that the top is pretty ragged, but it still sort of worked. It's very scrubby (which is what I wanted) and it looks like an Oreo McFlurry. Any tips on upping my game on this ? given my minimal access to ingredients?

I don't know if I'm weird, but the single use soap bar shreds are the exact opposite of what I would want. I hate when I have a bar of soap that gets to being almost gone and it's this tiny little flimsy bit that is harder to handle and easier to drop. When I get to the point where it's super pliable, I usually get a new bar and sort of graft the remnants of the old one onto the new bar so it isn't wasted but is now attached to a proper bar that can fill my hand

6:45 - at first, I agreed with your assessment of that soap hack. But I can see it being useful in 2 particular situations- 1) having a child set up and run the dishwasher. No worries about under/over filling. And 2) a visually impaired person, same reasons as with kids. But it would only make sense if dishwasher pods weren’t accessible at that time/place or if the gel is like waaaaay cheaper than pods.

They don't layer it just pressing it all together, I don't think this would hold up. Yep just watched a 10 min Tutorial on that, you need to work the fibers into each other. Wetting the soap with hot and cold water, rubbing the soap and the felt around it together until you can't pull it apart easily. You can also see the yellow felt sticking out in the shower scene... that's supposed to be ON there xD It's an easy projekt you can do in I dunno 20 minutes?
