If your car came with the factory fender mounted indicators (as yours does), the dash indicators were taped over and no bulb was installed. You can easily remove the tape and put a bulb in if you want. If your LEDs are too bright, just put a resister in-line and you can select any brightness based on the resistor size. Soak your bumper mounted turn signal socket in vinegar for 2 or 3 days and the vinegar will dissolve the rust. Apply some grease to keep it from rusting again and you should be good to go.

Set a lot of windshields back in the day using the locking gasket. We used a product called glass slip. It was made specifically for rubber gaskets. I swear it looked and smelled just like Gojo hand cleaner. Glass cleaner dries pretty quick to use on gasket sets. Some gaskets used a lock strip, had all kinds of different size tools to do them also. Hook and lacing tools were a must have! Glad you were able to find a new gasket because the old rubber would be so non-pliable now it would be hard to put the new windshield in. Glad to see you had a pro do it for you. Yes, patience is required😀 I also did a lot of street rods, pattern cutting flat glass . Those were the days👍

With the reverse lights, again the very next year, 69', Plymouth put them in the rear bumper because they came up with those gorgeous deep recessed all red tail lights....something for the competition to look at......if they could keep up. Nice job on the windshield & the signals ! The really nice thing about the signals on the front fenders is that when they don't cancel , due to slight turns like passing , if you can't hear the relay (440), you can still see them on the front & turn them off , manually . Ya , those light emitting diodes are polarity sensitive . Funny thing is that the bulbs aren't , but those are idiot-proofed @ the factory , 1 wire . Definitely a bad trans. switch , you've proven out the back-up lamp circuit . Nice to see it all coming together for ya , Dan !

Beautiful job on the glass. If you find the LEDs too bright, a bit of spray tint or even satin varnish/lacquer tones them down a treat.
@David-rx5eo2 жыл бұрын
On some LEDs you can reverse the bulb to change the polarity. I got some replacements for a 250cc scooter I have and they would not light up unless installed with correct polarity. They fit in the socket either direction. If that is the case with those bulbs then you could change it to have the black as ground.
