The trask vent M8 has shipped after 2 day wait. The difference I think will be the transmission cover doesn't have all that much oil and it's not at the rear where all the oil goes during acceleration. Plus it just looks badass
@fltrx19rider143 жыл бұрын
Good video, re-routed my fueling dipstick to the rear as well. Well engineered product, but still pricey. 2019 rg, used a-1 vented stick 1st. Less money, but very basic. No valving, however larger diameter hose , better venting. Could smell crankcase fumes coming thru the filter. Stiffer, fatter hose, more difficult to route. No quick disconnect either. All things considered, higher priced fueling product offers more convenience, easier routing of the hose, and better engineering. Just my 2 cents...

I got the A1Cycles Ventilator (I'm cheap :-) ) and it works great - in fact I think it may actually be better as it allows the air to move both ways (I think the air pulses in and out of the vents), I've also done a (cheaper!) DIY vent kit for the head vents by routing through the airbox and out, I had noticed even with a vented dipstick you still get a small amount of breathing via the head vents... defnitely feels smoother running and nicer throttle pickup. Great video, thanks!

Feuling Vented Dip Stick: The allen wrench for the setcrew (Cap, clocking) is 0.050". Not a common size. I had to make a trip to Harbor Freight, and finally found an 0.050" but had to buy a set [of allen wrenches] to get the one 0.050" allen. Harbor Freight is cheap; the allen set (assorted sizes) was only $7 or $8. I also have the piece from Trask (Trans. top cover plate) with the breather, but haven't installed it yet. Still working out my own engineering for the EBS (head breather bolts) utilizing the HD SE Extreme Ventilator AC. Trask vents the transmission and primary whereas the fueling only vents the crankcase. These are separate components. The M8 already has a vent on the primary case, I would think the Trask really serves no purpose. Isn't the Trask design and the M8 HD vent on the Primary more for the possible reduction in transfer between the transmission and the Primary. You can get a M8 vent retrofit kit for older M8 engines from HD. In days gone by HD use to have a vent similar to Trask on older engines.

Just got my Feuling vented dipstick last night. Probably be Wednesday when I get enough time to install it. Just curious as to how I should run the breather line. Some say run it up and over and the filter should come out somewhere down where I mount my sprit bell is but if oil does go up through that line, wouldn't that create a syphon effect? Other people say keep the line/filter high to avoid that. I think I'll route it the way you have it on this Road Glide so if there is oil to come out that filter there's no chance of getting that oil on the tire. That would be bad. I thought about adding the Trask because it gives it even MORE breathing ability.
