I'm glad you made this video. I did the fueling kit on both of my TC-95's and today on my new Ultra limited I tried a new tranny cover from a company called CNCNICE and I was surprise to see that it was very good quality. Cheap fix! when you look it up you'll see for yourself its a nice product. It made a massive inprovement in venting the cases on my old TC's I hope it works the same on my new bike. Thank you for you video you always make me laugh along with you. God bless and be safe.

The trask vent M8 has shipped after 2 day wait. The difference I think will be the transmission cover doesn't have all that much oil and it's not at the rear where all the oil goes during acceleration. Plus it just looks badass

Good video, re-routed my fueling dipstick to the rear as well. Well engineered product, but still pricey. 2019 rg, used a-1 vented stick 1st. Less money, but very basic. No valving, however larger diameter hose , better venting. Could smell crankcase fumes coming thru the filter. Stiffer, fatter hose, more difficult to route. No quick disconnect either. All things considered, higher priced fueling product offers more convenience, easier routing of the hose, and better engineering. Just my 2 cents...

I got the A1Cycles Ventilator (I'm cheap :-) ) and it works great - in fact I think it may actually be better as it allows the air to move both ways (I think the air pulses in and out of the vents), I've also done a (cheaper!) DIY vent kit for the head vents by routing through the airbox and out, I had noticed even with a vented dipstick you still get a small amount of breathing via the head vents... defnitely feels smoother running and nicer throttle pickup. Great video, thanks!

The air/oil separators inside a twin can rocker box are the same thing Feuling used on their dipstick. I’ve now added a Feuling dipstick to my twin can motor after replacing my separators. I didn’t know about the Feuling product until after I had taken my rockerboxs apart.

Feuling Vented Dip Stick: The allen wrench for the setcrew (Cap, clocking) is 0.050". Not a common size. I had to make a trip to Harbor Freight, and finally found an 0.050" but had to buy a set [of allen wrenches] to get the one 0.050" allen. Harbor Freight is cheap; the allen set (assorted sizes) was only $7 or $8. I also have the piece from Trask (Trans. top cover plate) with the breather, but haven't installed it yet. Still working out my own engineering for the EBS (head breather bolts) utilizing the HD SE Extreme Ventilator AC. Thinking about doing a 114-to-117 Stage 3 or Stage 4 kit (I know, HD SE also has the 114/117-to 122 Stage-3 and 114/117-to-131 Stage-4 kits available, but not C.A.R.B. certified (yet?) for California. I wanna leave this State (lol).

Wondering if this is the same issue that literally just started last week on my 2019 Deluxe. Had it for a year, no issues. Came back from riding last weekend and noticed some liquid residue on my right saddlebag and on some of the chrome behind my air cleaner. Let it cool off, put my hand up behind the cover and sure enough, little bit of oil. My question is, does this need to be remedied immediately/at all?

Trask vents the transmission and primary whereas the fueling only vents the crankcase. These are separate components. The M8 already has a vent on the primary case, I would think the Trask really serves no purpose. Isn't the Trask design and the M8 HD vent on the Primary more for the possible reduction in transfer between the transmission and the Primary. You can get a M8 vent retrofit kit for older M8 engines from HD. In days gone by HD use to have a vent similar to Trask on older engines.

Just got my Feuling vented dipstick last night. Probably be Wednesday when I get enough time to install it. Just curious as to how I should run the breather line. Some say run it up and over and the filter should come out somewhere down where I mount my sprit bell is but if oil does go up through that line, wouldn't that create a syphon effect? Other people say keep the line/filter high to avoid that. I think I'll route it the way you have it on this Road Glide so if there is oil to come out that filter there's no chance of getting that oil on the tire. That would be bad. I thought about adding the Trask because it gives it even MORE breathing ability.

Thats a check ball problem. Its warn out, so oil seeps past into the crank case from sitting. Then you start it and that oil shoots out the breather all over the ground. Replace the check ball, use the old one on top of the new one, use a flat punch and smack it with a hammer to seat the new ball. Then toss the old one and put the line back on. My 90 heritage does it as well. Easy fix!

I have some mechanics tell me it doesn’t make any real difference and that both options are a waste of money.......it’s just another place we’re oil can leak out...my biggest concern is the Harley ESP... I’ve still got 5 years left on that little gem and if I start mucking and drilling around changing stuff...God forbid anything goes pear shaped later on down the road. Harley could cancel my warranty...May sound silly to some I suppose but I bought into the whole warranty thing just in case the engine goes upside down...since the new M8 engine was only in it’s second year when I bought my bike...

I have an 18 heritage Classic 107 screamin eagle stage 4 dynoed with power vision tuner. not sure if it has an upgraded oil.pump
@ProfessionalMonkey
@ProfessionalMonkey 3 жыл бұрын
Stage 4 wouldn't be a 107, it would be a 114 unless they used a different kit. It depends on when the upgrades were done. DO you know?

Half your Harley is plastic anymore. Like I said I used the OEM dipstick a break bleeder,dilled some holes routed the hose mine looks great works the same and cost 7$ if you want to change something that makes a difference to billete aluminum do your lifter guids, there also plastic OEM and that's the shit that makes bikes implode.

Couldn’t you just tee your dipstick vent hose into your existing catch can? Great videos, keep it up

Hmmmmmm, maybe? I would need a pretty interesting t since the dipstick hose is tiny.

Arguably better too. Much larger, vents quite a bit more.

Lacks the diaphragm and mushroom valve. That’s basically a dipstick with a hole in it.

Precisely. The reason it’s, arguably, better. Let’s the engine actually breathe. Look into it. I’m running exactly what you are.

Would I need to tap the banjo bolt lines as well as use the Feuling dipstick breather to allow my M8 to vent properly? I've been using the Feuling dipstick for months now and notice the difference.

I don't think so. It seems like the dipstick does the job on it's own...
