Beautifully put. I'd like to add that if you deny the right to die then you deny the right to live. Living then becomes a duty you owe to someone or thing. Every right to (for example) do, be or have anything must necessarily be accompanied by the right not to do, be or have it. Else the rights are recast as duties which are not rights at all.

Life is not sacred. Everybody owns his/her own life. Hence people say it is my life. That is the heart of the argument. The state should indeed protect life, as life clearly can end only once. But it has to protect my life (and yours) against external threats (criminals, hostile countries, terrorists). It should never protect my life against myself.

(And what about the non-human persons?) How the world should be, in your view, and how it is, are at odds. Think about this: People do not choose to die because they do not want to live. People choose to die because they do want to live, but they have a clear idea of the conditions required to make "a life worth living". Can you imagine anything at all that you would rather die than do? I can...

I agree with him completely. One should have the right to choose to die with some dignity. When life becomes unbearable, we should be kind and let the person go, if he or she so wishes. 🌹

Life is precious and we must do everything in our power to maintain life, but when life is unbearable to maintain then it is ok to seek help to die.

Instead of regretting letting someone suffer instead of just putting them out of their misery? It can be looked at from more than one angle.

02:55 the same thing in saudi arabia, nothing changed I think it's very important for the west to work on legalizing assisted suicide in the third world countries instead of other rights

It is selfish to ask someone to save your life too - and nothing guarantees that they - and perhaps millions of others along with them, will not live to regret it.

Judging by your spelling I am guessing you are from the US - a nation with the death penalty, multiple ongoing wars and pretty liberal gun laws.

Many people do decide when to escape, so clearly it can be done. However, not so many decide that that the world is "full of people committing suicide" - even though they could if they chose to. Empirically speaking, the evidence does not support your hypothesis. (I accidentally clicked the thumbs-up instead of the reply button, by the way, and don't know how to reverse it. Sorry.)
