The casting in these movies is the best I've ever seen. No other single film has more actors who were "born to play the role" than the Harry Potter movies. There's Daniel Radcliffe, Maggie Smith, Imelda Staunton (Dolores Umbridge), Helena Bonham Carter (Bellatrix Lestrange), Richard Harris (original Dumbledore) and the list continues. The first movie came out in 2001 and I do believe it had a strong impact in film/TV that followed in terms of casting. There was a shift away from the 80s-90s trend of just casting Barbie dolls in every role to casting more "artistic" faces, Picasso paintings that serve the visual artistry of the film every bit as much as the set design or lighting do. The British have always been more careful about casting and I think Harry Potter helped bring that to America.

The look on his face when Professor Snape thought he would have to fight Professor McGonagall ... breaks my heart...

I will never forgive the filmmakers for not showing the fight scene between Voldemort and her, Kingsley and slughorn in the end of book 7. I mean that alone showed how powerful she was. She dueled Voldemort and DID NOT die!

She did! I’m pretty sure it’s because in one of the books, I’m pretty sure a special edition one we find out that dumbledore loves sherbert lemons saying it is his favourite muggle sweet.
