Over the past month I traveled to New York, New Orleans, Houston, Philadelphia, and even Delaware to meet up with all the dunk contestants in the NBA’s 2023 Dunk Contest.
Not only did I check out their dunks before the contest I also show them how to do some of my signature street ball moves. It was Mac Mclung of the G-league and now the 76’ers, Kenyon Martin Jr. of the Rockets, Trey Murphy of the Pelicans, and Jericho Sim of the Knicks. @@rickdeckardbladerunner2049 I used to think that way, but then saw a clip of Jordan highlights and the guy narrating made a good point. Jordan looked like he was playing against plumbers and electricians, nobody really guarded him well and most of the time were flat footed or didn't challenge him as much as today. Wish I could find the link, if I do, I'll definitely come back and share it. It's not to say Jordan wasn't good, he was, but the competition wasn't as athletic as him. He was a generation ahead of his time.

@@CinHalCedHerChance Jordan was just that good man. Very few could guard him. Pistons gave him a hell of a time and beat him a ton. Even after retirement when he played just for fun, nobody could tough him. Centers dominated and the game was more fun to watch. Yea the league is more athletic now, but I would take less athletic with the 90's style of bball over what we get today with players shooting 3 pointers and fewer big men. When they added the 3 second rule in the paint in 2001, combined with eliminating hand checking, it has led to this new style of play that is just not fun to watch. They need to extend the 3 point line, eliminate the 3 second rule, allow hand checking. Lebron is top 5 all-time, but Jordan is the GOAT.

Many people do not realize that Pete Maravich was one of the first to bring street ball to the league and many of the great NBA players past and present have studied his moves or learned from someone who studied him ..Magic, Bird ,Doctor J.,Jordan Iverson Curry and the professor .... Pistol Pete practiced dripping 6 +hours a day, the crossover,behind the back passes and layups,..no look passes, spinning bounce passes head fakes... legendary moves and averaged 45 in college and pro's with no 3 pt. rule he scored 68 pt high ( half of his shots were 3 pt range)...I don't remember anyone ever stealing the ball from him but he could steal from anyone , except Walt Frazier.or.Earl( the pearl) Monroe (who all retired the same year) All. Legendary ball handlers with incredible skills.

I used to be a bball fan but it just got boring and repetitive. Always the same thing. Set up the pick and roll. Drive to the bucket. Rebound throw to outside. Repeat.
