Something I'm really liking about sekiro, and I think Vivian mentioned something similar, is how it's this dark and edgy and punishing "historical" fantasy, but the fantasy part adds de-edgying elements in a very smooth and subtle way. Like the humor factor of various silly npcs and enemies, the mega cool ninja prosthetic arm accessories, the resurrection powers, the hyper flip parkour with your entire sword out that somehow doesn't take your head off. They're all integrated into the really cool ambiance in such a way that they don't like. take away from it I think the optimal way for me to enjoy games that are Too Difficult For My Easily Frustrated Little Brain(tm) is to watch a friend play them and talk at them the whole time, and occasionally they hand me the controller and try to teach me and after dying 10 times in as many minutes I hand the controller back and go get us some snacks. hard to pitch this to a guy without him thinking it's a sex thing though. very annoying. and none of my girl friends are gamers. very sad
