Thousands of viewers say Dave's videos have helped them succeed in both high school classes and college courses - he's reached and helped more students than most other teachers ever will. If that's failure, we should all hope to fail so successfully. He does not call himself Doctor Dave - he's not a doctor. He calls himself Professor Dave, which is an accurate use of the title, since he doesn't pretend to be a Professor at a university (a job title which means different things in different countries, and sometimes doesn't even require teaching), but is definitely an online Professor, a job description of a person who teaches at a high level. I've known a lot of people with PhDs who couldn't teach - and people without PhDs who were excellent teachers. They knew how to ask productive questions as they studied new subjects, how to get to the fundamental facts and ideas of new subjects, how to put it all together into a coherent whole, and how to then teach it to other people. A whole set of unusual skills.

I'm almost ready to accept that Hell is the better place to be condemned to -filled with rational, non-bigoted, honest people of all races and religions while Heaven is full of morons, greedy racists, political shills, plagiarists who falsely cite people to give opposite or distorted views. Oh and they think they sing good. Iwent to HS about a half mile from the Creationist Research Institute in El Cajon and was fortunate to elude their clutches. Fortunately my Southern Baptist parents had "lapsed" after the revolt in the ideology of the church in the 196O's -between "liberal" anti-racist reformers and the literalist pro-segregationist factions. So I didn't go to the Greenfield church of the creationist rapture preacher and their ilk. I think the kids of Morris, Gish and others attended my school. But I don't recall evolution, as such, being taught at all in Biology...what I acquired was mainly from the text book and library books. And my family lived overseas in Africa for a time (1965-69) and my Engineer father (a big rock-hound) took our around to several hominid fossil and archeological sites. (Olduvai, Laetoli -before the footprints were found- Olorgesailie, etc ). We met the famous Louis S.B. Leakey who showed us around the Coryndon Museum in Nairobi and even into the collection cabinets. Because of that experience I followed everything I could get my hands on Early Man and the Time/Life series on Evolution. That's how I ended up going to UC Berkeley and getting my degree in Biological Anthropology, with heavy emphasis in Geology- Paleontology and Genetics. But I recall when I was. in HS that I wrote critical book reports on Velikovsky, Van Danikan, and some Cryptozoology books. So I had a debnking critical nature even then.

Basically I am a council communist. I believe that huge bureaucracies are problematic, regardless if whether or not they exist as the superstructure of a capitalist or socialist industrial base.

@@EnverHalilHoxha1917 not sure why YT keeps deleting my reply to this, but I lean probably more towards Trot. I don't think socialism in one country is feasible. We could have an entire discussion around the trauma of moving a nation from an agrarian to industrial base, and how it might have been less traumatic in the USSR and PRC than the west, but I don't know if it's a useful or necessary one at this point. Whatever comes next, we need to find a way to reduce the complexity of the bureaucratic superstructure over the base, as that is what results in exploitation.

I used to be on the "Ur mean! be more diplomatic!" train, but by now I've watched a large number of intellectuals and kind people patiently sharing their knowledge and life experiences, representing a more rational and compassionate worldview for years. I've watched them waste years of their lives reaching across the table, gritting their teeth and surrendering to the tone policing while everything they are and stand for is under a deliberate, dishonest, cynical and often aggressive attack from people who only care to control their audiences for wealth, power and control. Being nice clearly hasn't worked, seeing the current state of affairs. So I'm all for exposing these people and showing no mercy, whether it's science denial, bigotry or both, as they tend to go hand in hand.

Absolutely. Never Change.. we all should follow the example in challenging people like this. I'm willing to ignore levels of stupidity in general, but nobody should let ANTI-intellectualism slide. These are scary people that actively want to dismantle the education system to bring everybody down to a level of simpleton that follow like witless sheep willing to believe in their lies and fairytale. They want to (and have succeeded) in pushing this shit down children's throats whilst removing genuine science or anything that could lead to a contradiction in their ancient book (ie Science!) I feel sorry for anybody born into this cult that are then never given an opportunity to develop critical thinking skills. Sadly they inherit additional personality traits of the Christian community - such as hate, a superiority complex, rudeness, intolerance, sexism, homophobia and eventually becoming salesmen that attempt to absorb other people into it all. These are horrible and dangerous people that fully believe they have 'God' on their side. If they practiced what they preach, they would use empathy and love to help people over to the side of saviour, instead they'll put you down and laugh that you're going to burn in a lake of fire for all eternity. It's always these little digs, putting people down. For example, why is "Professor" in quotes? You're a Communist and Anti-semite? And... "haha" luckily, not gay! Isn't it funny thinking someone will be tortured forever. Even if they were right, I wouldn't want to have anything to do with this community. I also wouldn't trust them around children.

I used to be a Rogan guy, now I’m just pissed at all of these people for platforming endless grifters, and creating a profit model around these lies. These people have no interest in real knowledge. I know this from experience, I was raised conservative Catholic. I will protect the innocent, but I was an alter boy…and while I was not personally abused, I saw another alter boy get ushered into the priests changing room for what was a very inappropriate amount of time. i would argue religion is based in some form of science-- social sciences. religion is like culture-- it generally conforms to human social and emotional needs and some environmental factors, but very little else. it brews up existential theories and rituals, arbitrarily chooses some and discards others based on a kind of collective storytelling which serves to bond and enrich the group, but also tends to make claims that are provably untrue when social needs bleed into the territory of science. to condemn it entirely would be missing the point of what social systems like this provide to people, why people choose this over science to begin with (yes a lot are coerced and indoctrinated, but some are not, and its popularity proves it is attractive in some way). it has patterns that pop up throughout history that would exist without historical precedent or not, but they are patterns of human thought and behavior, not any specific material claims. religion, like culture, should be preserved as wonderful creations of humanity like the rest of the arts, but the way people use religion to spread debunked misinformation and oppress minorities and the underclass is especially dangerous. and also very funny when they try to speak authoritatively on the physical sciences, which have never in the entirety of the universe's life cared about humans or what they would like to believe

But he clearly supported the ostracism of gay and LGBTQ people (even though he repeatedly referenced and accepted the ‘3rd gender’ of the time in eunuchs), and he very clearly said that the people who have a lot of money will go to heaven (flipping the tithings and market stalls in the church, telling the rich to give up their wealth to go to heaven, encouraging fair pay within slavery e.t.c.). Even though a perfect person really shouldn’t encourage slavery, he definitely doesn’t encourage the discrimination of other genders or the acclamation of wealth.

I think some large creationist orgs use bots to deliberately alter the algorithm tbh… I mean we KNOW wealthy ‘tech bros’ do that sh*t to influence politics so it’s honestly not all that far fetched w these deceptive f***s. The series was REALLY hard to find, which is weird for such a big channel. Firstly, I only heard about it when he mentioned it in this video (so much for notifications amirite), so I went to Dave’s channel in search of it a few days later, went to playlists, saw literally hundreds of videos, none of which had that title… so I had to go back to this video to see the title and then search those EXACT words cuz using only some words didn’t work (another red flag). Then when I went back to watch more, I couldn’t find the fng thing again without going back through my history, at which point I immediately saved it to my playlist (which I should’ve done from the getgo). But it’s actually a tactic dirty people use to censor content… they use bots to “mass report” content, so YT will automatically stop ‘recommending’ it while they investigate all the ‘complaints’, then by the time they clear the video it already drew WAY less interaction than it would’ve otherwise and gets pushed down the algorithm list. I seriously think some funny business went into censoring this series, so I actually bought a super chat just to recommend Dave re-upload it… cuz would it really shock anyone to learn orgs like DI and/or the people who fund them in an attempt to institute theocracy wouldn’t be below doing dirty sh*t like that?
