So the orange stuff in leaves is the same as in what makes vegetables orange, & its job is to help absorb light, cool. ...now that I think about it, some leaves really are the exact same shades of reds, yellows & oranges as peppers, carrots and fruits.

I'm so confused on what exactly a 'pigment' is. First you say Chlorophyll is a plant pigment Then immediately after say Chlorophylls are large molecules with a cyclic portion that binds to a metal ion. So is Chlorophyll a pigment or is the pigment a part of chlorophyll? Or do 'pigments' not exist in reality and are just an abstraction to describe the phenomena of light?

Because ,in trigonomentry the tangent or tan is only function which ratio gives (y/x)in complex numbers for representing cartesian coordinate into polar coordinate form.which is easy to find arg z or @.Otherwise you can use sine or cosine function to calculate agr z it will give same answer.we can write x=rcos@ and y=rsin@ where "r" is the length of line segment from origin to given point let say p(x,y). Let you have a given Cartesian coordinate p(5,12) and you have to convert it into polar form. so,we know that in the given example x=5 and y=12. we have to find "r" which is equal to sqrt(x^2+y^2).so, r=sqrt(5^2+12^2)=13 r=13. for finding @ we use @=arctan(y/x)=arctan(12/5)=67.3 degree we also know x=rcos@ and y=rsin@ cos@=x/r or @=arc(x/r)=arccos(5/13)=67.38degree sin@=y/r or @=arcsin(y/r)=arcsin(12/13)=67.38degree in all the cases the values of arg z or @ is same. in polar coordinate system p(5,12) is p(13,67.38). so,we can say that without finding the value of "r" which is sqrt(x^2+y^2) we can find the arg z in complex no. by applying @=arctan(y/x).Thank you :)
