Short, sweet, and informative; setting the stage for what should be a very interesting take on the concept of assets. The rules are always changing, Professor Dave, but I'd love to see a short series on taxes and assessments on income and assets, too. Maybe it's just that tax season is upon us and I have it on the brain. Great stuff all the same!

I know it's off the topic but I have a question.The orbitals of electrons are just their wave function right.Can they collapse when interacting in a certain way.If they do what causes them to collapse and what consequences this collapse have.
@lorddonk98062 жыл бұрын
The shape of the orbital changes depending on the energy or the principle quantum number. As you increase that principle quantum number, N, to infinity, the electron is stripped from its atom and it no longer has a probability of being found there.

honestly , anything that doesnt make money is a liability . eg . car is a asset , but most people loss money at the end of the day , so i would consider it a liability .
@glennpearson93482 жыл бұрын
By that notion, even cash is a liability if the rate of inflation exceeds the interest rate, which happens to be true in the U.S. and many other countries right now.
@jon36152 жыл бұрын
While technically true it also depends on opportunity costs. Rental car companies consider their fleets as assets and wealthy individuals may consider their homes as liabilities. Time is the asset/liability that most will neglect to take into account when planning their finances.

Since it loses value daily it is hard to see a car as an asset unless it's used as a uber.
@SupremeST252 жыл бұрын
Assets are distinguished from liabilities in that assets have value whereas liabilities don’t. So a car is still an asset because even if it loses value as time goes on, it’s value is still there and is subject to rise or fall based on the market. This is why we call cars depreciating assets and not liabilities
