Thank you for just getting to the point. Sometimes language tutorials have a lot of distracting chatter and it's hard to focus on what's important. You know how to organize all this information in such a logical way and you can still be very funny.

thanks! My gf is italian and she and her whole family say that they don't do the rounding up and then minus whatever minutes are left. They were all laughing when I told them that I learned this from two different videos. They just say the number for the minutes and that's all there is to it. What is your take on this?

Nah I've heard Italians do it. But either way is totally fine.

i have a question please. why do we use the verb "sono" when asking about the time?
@casper1754 Жыл бұрын
i presume you found out, but for others: sono is the present tense 3rd person plural form of essere (to be) or, in short, sono is 'they are'. this is because there are multiple hours if it's 2 o'clock (or higher). it will seem strange because in english we say the TIME IS, but in italian we're asking what the HOURS ARE - we're counting the hours. hope i could explain okay i started learning italian just earlier this week but i know some spanish and it's the same system with that too lol
