It's a shame you are not on regular tv so you can get national coverage. You are THAT good. I'd say up there with Casey Kasem and Dick Clark. Your voice is unique in which you bring in the viewer. Many props for bringing us so much information that all of us never knew, but is always intriguing to the creativity of making songs and how or why they were made. Please do the youngsters in world a great favor and pen a book with all this info. It would be a must read for historians of music.

@@michaelburke5907 Both are pretty amazing, and maybe I’ve missed some of Ann’s range. Linda though made so many choices regarding covering so many styles!! I felt like many songs she looked at, decided what she wanted to do with it, and just did it-seemingly effortless results. She had the range, the resonance thru her range, and as much or more control over what she wanted her voice to do as Streisand did. Style can challenge muscles differently. I had some generations of family where everyone sang, their parents started teaching them as children. I’d think it builds a different kind of strength across each person’s range, from so young-sort of how in medieval times boys were practicing with heavy swords and bows from so young their strength Far exceeded that of modern boys taking these up as hobbies now. On the other hand-wow Ann was 70 in this interview!?!? And even her speaking voice sounds unchanged!

I was halfheartedly hoping, a few years ago, that just Maybe.... since Robt Plant was not interested in doing a Zep reunion tour.... that Page, Jones, and Jason Bonham would do a tour with Ann singing and Nancy on backup guitar as Led Zeppelin featuring The Wilson Sisters.... it would've been So Good! Alas.... it was never seriously considered. Don't know if it ever was contemplated.... but since JP Jones worked with Heart on The Road Home record, and Jason Bonham was friends with the Wilsons from being their opening act on a tour, the ability of Heart to absolutely Nail any LZ tune they ever covered would seem to have made that coupling a potentially great idea. 🤔

I LOVE this interview!! Thank you so much! 5:59 I'm so glad you asked about "The Night" and, later, "Under the Sky". "Brigade" is actually one of my favorite Heart albums. It was the first album where Ann really started to get a little grit in her voice, and songs like "Tall, Dark, Handsome Stranger", while insipid, feature some of Ann's best recorded vocals in her entire career. "All I Wanna Do" proved you could throw crap at incredibly talented artists and they can shine it up enough to make it worthy of being a centerpiece! Ann is and always be the Queen of Rock n' Roll. I'd love to hear her and Ronnie Dio sing a duet in the afterlife - after Ann enjoys at least a couple more decades of rockin' here with us! Thanks again for reminding us of this excellent album. I felt like Heart finally made up for the 80s with this one. Shame on you for editing out what Ann had to say about the Lovemongers' anti-war/peace message! I know we're not allowed to have opinions that upset our warmongering corporate masters, but if a legend like Ann Wilson can't talk about peace, we're in real trouble. Great interview - I haven't seen many with Ann but I love her storytelling ability. And her speaking voice is as mesmerizing as her singing voice. I think she is the best female vocalist ever. It's one thing to sing like that on a produced recording, but she's just as good live on stage. I wore out all the Heart albums growing up. Favorite songs - Dog and Butterfly and Crazy on You.

I remember when All I Wanna Do was popular, I was working with someone who loved the song but hadn't heard any other Heart. I brought some older Heart in for them to listen to, they actually didn't like it (too heavy). At that point I realized it was written for other people and not for me.

I still watch the Led Zeppelin tribute " Omg" I cried watching that for the first time. Especially when the camera caught Robert Plant tearing up. All the images of there youth came rushing through my mind up to that moment of Heart singing the tribute just shock me. Thank you keep up the great views love your work as well .🙏🏻

I've known for quite awhile Ann didn't care for AIWDIMLTY. The sound has a great feel and groove to it. Ann kills it when she sings, "Please, please understand...!!" She gave that song an intimacy that nobody expected. Kudos to her. I don't have a Heart song I dislike, but I sure wish Ann would start performing "Magic Man" again!!

Yeah I saw them in concert in the late 90s maybe? The stadium I was in was terrible for music; acoustics were awful. And my seat had me looking down through ceiling lights right down at the stage. Everybody on stage was pretty much just big blobs. I hate to be mean but she'd definitely been eating well.

Heart represents my own moment of awakening to the world of Rock music. I was a recruit in Marine Corps back in '77 nearing the end of my Boot camp. We had our "liberty day" for visitors prior to graduation day and I had nobody to come visit me, so I decided to roam about the base, quickly finding myself in the base library. A recently released album of Little Queen caught my eye and I thought I'd give it a listen (side note: the library had an unusual set of air powered headphones to hear music on - not sure why). I was so thoroughly hooked by the 3rd song (Sylvan Song) that I was transported to a whole new world the moment that bass kicked in, and I still relive that transformative moment every time I hear that album. I must have listened to that album 3 times before I had to leave to get back to the barracks. My very first purchase after getting liberty after boot camp was that album.

I have a different take on this - a Heart song that didn't get a lot of airplay but I LOVE it. The song "Allies". It starts slow with the 'classical' sounding piano and tastefully builds... then it falls back to Ann's flute solo only to return to action with those cavernous drums that explode into the final chorus. I get chills listening to that song to this day.

Don’t get me started on Heart. I fell in love with them when I first heard These Dreams on the radio back in 85. If I ever compile my own personal 100 list of the most beautiful songs of all time, These Dreams is automatically number one. I think they were possessed by the heavenly muses when they sang it. As for All I wanna Do I thought it was a beautiful romantic song. Nothing creepy about it. I think it was hot to hear a woman sing such a beautiful and classy erotic love song to a man. All these decades and I didn’t know this was a cover until listening to this interview. I hope they get back together and tour again. Great interview.

The funny thing is, I think Ann underrates it by saying it's about a one-night stand. The protagonist was using the guy as a means to an end. He got what he wanted, and she got what she wanted (and needed, due to shortcomings, pun intended!). It was a win-win! Very cleverly written. How does it even work if you switch to a male protagonist? 🤔

Ann! I’m a guy and here’s the deal: been listening to THIS SONG since it came out and I’ll tell ya…I LOVE this song ! I had it cranked up a few weeks back while driving the freeway and IT MADE ME THINK of a woman I had a child with in 1985…a child I haven’t heard or seen since 1990…the year this song debuted. It hits home because that relationship was intense and passionate at the time, just like this song. It’s NOT creepy; it really happens in the lives of many people…life-changing engagements. YOU SING IT SO VERY ELOQUENTLY and I thank you for it all these years.
