ProffieOS7 Config Helper Tool v3.0 - OS7 Feature Support and Optimizing your Config

For all of the Proffieboard users who want to add more presets, build more unique styles and really maximize the potential of your Proffieboard be sure to check this video out.
v3.0 of my Config Helper Tool is now live. ProffieOS7 introduced so many new features and concepts I built this config helper tool to allow users to get the most out of their Proffieboard sabers.

This tool will help old and new users to easily built out and update your config and implement all of the new features (in conjunction with my upcoming OS7 Library). The config helper is designed to work with the upcoming Library to help you maximize the potential of OS7.
This video is specifically discussing the new optimization capabilities available in OS7 by combining the style options, using functions and new style arguments capabilities to let you do more and fit more onto your Proffieboard than ever before.
For example, in the past many users have run out of memory adding a few Greyscale styles to their configs. I have remade and optimized the Greyscales styles (which were originally derived from OS5 library styles) for the OS7 library and made them fully editable. In testing, I tried to upload 18 Greyscale styles to my board and it exceeded FLASH memory by over 39000 bytes (115% of available FLASH memory for just those 18 styles). Then using the OS7 Library versions to build "option styles" with using functions and style arguments I was able to upload all 18 Greyscale styles along with another dozen presets and only use 84% of FLASH memory, leaving 16% available for even more optimized styles and able to generate 100s of unique presets easily.
In combination with newly optimized styles coming in my OS7 Library, the config helper will allow you to easily take option styles and using functions to generate nearly 100s of unique presets on your saber and fit even more styles and presets than you have before.
In addition, this tool is designed to support the new OS7 style arguments and CONFIG_STYLES which will allow you to build more and more presets, with more and more customization. As you build your presets into the tool you will be able to quickly edit the arguments (the tool will read the style and show you what Edit Mode arguments are available). This allows you to add your color editing, options and other customizations directly into the config which enables more presets and easier updating to future OS versions while maintaining your selections. Combining the style arguments with using function support, you can expand the number of presets and customize each one all before you upload to your saber.
You can also apply previously made edits from your presets.ini into the config for easier updating in the future.

This is amazing 🙏 I’m not very savvy in this department I’ve been loving my proffie sabers. I love working on them. I love edit mode, and I love having all the different blade style capabilities however, I would spend time in edit mode and then if I ever reflash the board everything I edited goes away so this is just what I’m looking for!!!!!

Amazing work. Already loving optimizing via using functions. I have all the stock sabertrio blade styles (except like 2 of them) on 1 using function. Leaves me enough space to add several additional blade styles to the board that would not fit before. Also, the multiphase changes using special abilities... *chefs kiss*. Can't wait to see what's next.

Are the greyscale styles compiled somewhere? Or documented? Because I don't know that i could reverse engineer those on my own. Your can still use their soundfonts?

Can you use OS 7 on Proffieboard v2.2? Also was wondering about boot fonts and certain companies font, like kyberphonic for track, I know it has to match. Usually I see the configs says tracks/track1.wav but I believe kyberphonic has their folder named music the each track, track1, Ect. So should I put track/track1 or Music/track1? Thank you I am new to this and want to make sure I get it right trying to program this before I get the rest of my parts and the saber hilt in.

Yes, ProffieOS runs on v1.5, v2.2 and v3.9 boards. Tracks always go in a folder named "tracks". If you're using my prop you can use Track Player as well to have multiple tracks, they go in font/tracks/ or common/tracks. Im trying to do this at the moment and i keep getting errors about beepers and talkies. My sd card is all correct snd this is my third reconfiguration of this saber.

A config wouldn't cause those types of errors to my knowledge, most likely something not set up correctly when you were adding the config to ProffieOS.ino. I recommend following this page step-by-step when uploading. www.fett263.com/updating-your-proffieboard.html

did this but my LEDS dont work for the blade or the accent

Check with your installer to make sure you have the correct BladeConfig information. That is what tells the OS how everything is wired, if that is incorrect the leds will not work. This tool cannot provide you with a BladeConfig that has to be provided by whoever wired the saber.

I got a prop file from a vendor but they had 6.5 os so idk how old it is. Is there an updated prop file or its probably got all the features in it?

the prop is part of the OS, so if you have OS6 then you have an OS6 prop and an OS6 config unless they built some custom prop file, you'd have to ask them, you can't run an OS7 prop in OS6, it won't work.
