Tbh, this stuff is fairly easy to pull off. It has always the same way it goes, and then it just takes a little bit of knowledge about specific things in countries outside your own. First you Analyse the picture for everything that could give you a clue, starting with obvious things like town signs, license plates, street signs, bill boards and going over to specific things like architecture or road markings. With this you can already erase a high percentage of countries just because of yellow or white street markings. Like Germany, you will find only white markings there, they only use orange in construction zones. So if there are no signs of construction and it’s yellow markings, it can’t be Germany (just for example). After you ruled out everything that it can’t be you Analyse what you have based on what it could be and delete more and more places, until you specified your country. Then you take your Intel from the picture and determine in which region of the country it could be, and so on you go in more detail until you can make it out via maps. If you start with it you need a notepad, a pencil and many many attempts in google. But after you hit lvl 1000 in games like GeoGuessr you can pull this of in seconds just in your mind, it’s just training like these guys that remember Pi until the 5781. Number, I have to google everything over number 54. So it’s really not that special tbh, it’s not a secret talent or something, just training and experience.
@spaghetti2777
@spaghetti2777 Жыл бұрын
The problem isn’t that it’s particularly hard, it’s that people don’t bother to learn these things. Like you could very easily learn and name every country in the world in the span of a week (like 1 hr a day) so technically half a day - a day… Now, what happens if you put 1 hr everyday for a year learning geography. People often spend several hrs a day playing games or a hobby and get extremely skilled at it. This is not different, it’s probably easier to name every single province in the world then to learn a language but people would be far more impressed by the former simply because people don’t usually focus on memorizing geography
@DrakeOola
@DrakeOola Жыл бұрын
@@patrickpettibone9749 There are already tons of books and research papers on this type of stuff, impressive for what started out as a hobby but I guarantee governments/intelligence agencies already employ tons of people like this or even experts in other fields like even botanists trying to identify every single plant in a picture to see if it narrows anything down or carpenters/engineers to identify specific building codes or regulations the houses do or don't follow and tracking them down that way.

Everyone has transformers on poles, its the question of where. US has transformers up next to the power line, so peoples can't reach it and mess with it. In Hungary we have them down on the lower part, close to the ground, because its way easier and cheaper to maintain. On the negative side when i was a kid we were always flashing light inside to turn off the street lighting for fun... Edit: Also in the original video it was only a later point way after threes plants, architecture and whatnot, its just a short edit that made it look this way.
