Good news on the Tull box sets. They set the standard for reissues in my opinion. CDs and DVDs with unreleased music including usually concerts from the era of the album. Photos and interviews and notes. All in boxes that allow you to create a Tull library. All at a reasonable price. Long live Tull!

I enjoyed the remix of the Genesis debut in stereo and I do enjoy the album as a whole, but I’m interested to hear how it sounds with this new mix

I'm not sure why people dislike the first Genesis album. I consider Revelation and Trespass to be basically the same band, and if you judge those two albums separately from any of the later releases, they both stand up on their own, so long as you are willing to be open to that hazy, dreamy, pastoral sonic space that they exist within. These albums are more successful as mood pieces than as pop albums, and I think it's more about suspending expectations than judging against an entire catalog. I actually get more replay value out of Revelation, because there are a lot of little interesting bits that I always forget about and rediscover on another listen. The naivete of the production adds to the charm, for me. Not many parallels to this one.

@@TheDarrenLock Yeah, they're a bit embarrassed of it, but as a listener, I just think of it as another artist, more or less, and enjoy it for what it is. Perhaps I'm biased because I was introduced to this album as a child, and found it quite endearing. The only Genesis albums I knew at the time were the first 4 records. Ant's Genesis had an honest innocence that was unique. Trespass to me is still "Ant's Genesis", but they've just matured and developed a fair bit. But after Ant left, a fair amount was lost, not unlike the Floyds after Barrett left.

There was an excellent remix of Banks’ A Curious Feeling a few years ago which came out on Esoteric (did they also do his box set?) - I wonder if that lends the label a little more credence than some of the budget labels which FGTR has passed through? Hope so anyway.

They do a lot of stuff. For example, they worked through the Renaissance back catalogue rather nicely and have a Kevin Ayers box set coming later in the year. 👍

SO, a second remix of their debut....some of us remember the digital only Genesis 50 Years Ago, which was 2% better than the original mix, cause they removed alot of those shit overdubs...............zzzzz

Missed opportunity and would rather them fix the problem with the 2007or 2008 reisiiue on the Lamb lies down on Broadway on which you skip to the Broadway melody of 1974 it still has later part of fly on the windshield and wish they would correct that like on the 1994 reissue of the Lamb lies down on Broadway were it does not have that problem when you skip to the Broadway melody of 1974 its just that insrumental part.

The 1994 indexing is the wrong one. The 2007 is correct.
