Hello Kate, I just saw this video; you did a good thing, letting Prudence go (die) at your home. It is always hard and sad when a beloved cat is going further on her journey. She could say goodbye in a very loving and warm environment. It was September’23 when my beloved cat Tom passed away and we let hem die at home, in his favorite blanket. And you know, it still hurts and I still miss him every day. Kate, I wish you and your family all the best and much love and happiness. I am sorry for your loss of beautiful Prudence. This video came on the same day I had to say goodbye to my 18 year old cat. I did take him to be put to sleep, but the Dr came out to the car, I held him as he fell asleep. It was peaceful and he was ready. RIP, Prudence and GrayGray.

I feel your loss back then. This past September 13, 2023 we had to say goodbye to one of our dogs at only 8 yrs of age. They were found in an abandoned house. Their mother died shortly after rescue. We adopted his brother at age 3 months. Our second of that litter, the one that passed in September,had been adopted & abused. He was 15 months old when we got him. When we introduced him to our other three, his brother Yogi Bear, sniffed Thor’s bottom,turned & faced my camera & grinned. I believe he knew it was his brother. I think his brain cancer could have been result of the abuse. Then November 21st,, 2023, the alpha of our pack quit eating & would only take couple syringes of water & could no longer use back legs. Olive our beautiful border collie, was 16.5 yrs old. Cause old age. Then came February 9, 2024. Our second pup Apollo came through tv station showing adoptable pups at local shelter. At age 18 months he started having epileptic seizures & went on medication. He nearly died then when vet realized he was allergic to the meds & had to go on human meds. Apollo had such silky ears & a fox like tail! Daughter taught him to say I wove u! He loss total use of hind legs, took him to vet who noticed his gums were very pale. Then found a large tumor in his abdomen. We took him home for our final goodbye. He passed February 24, 2024. Each of their final times, the remaining dogs took turns standing guard right by our dying dog. They knew what was happening. Pets become part of your family. I cried for your loss. I know it’s been few years but first time I had seen this episode, yet I cried. All your cats are beautiful! I especially love the calico “patchwork” cats. Kind of quilted cats! I dearly love animals. Poor Yogi Bear is our only dog & we are looking for another pup as he is extremely lonely. Your story of their adoption & loss, really brought back our memories of each of ours & loss of our two cats we had before these 4 dogs came into our lives. I still miss them too!❤

I'm quietly shedding lots of tears for Prudence and you Kate. How wonderful she passed away with you by her side stroking her. I've always been a dog person but do like cats as well. My neighbour rescued a black cat and named him Hobo. He jumps up on the wall when I drive in from work and we spend a few moments catching up on our day, he always finishes by putting his nose to mine and then jumps down. Our dear BoobBoo Kitty rarely left my husbands side, he had many health issues, but the last few month prior to his death in Jan 2021, she was ALWAYs with him. It is lovely you sat and comforted Cat Rita and made her journey peaceful. You and all the cats are in my thoughts and I 100% know the void you are feeling. Hi Kate, I know it’s 2 years since you posted this but I’ve just come across it today. You never stop missing our beautiful furry family. I had to let my Sooty go 8 years ago, he was like Norma my constant shadow, even accompanied me to the shop. He would put his paws either side of my waist and rest his head on my chest to cuddle in and sleep. He always new when I was arriving home no matter what time of day, we even took him on holiday. The vet came to my house to put him to sleep lying on my lap purring away as he slipped away I stroked him. I had him 19 years and not a day goes by that I still miss him. Watching your video I could see your tears and share your pain and if you still need one I’m sending you a hug. By the way I loved the proggy moggy mat 😍might try a go myself. Take care Heather xx ❤

Dear Kate, I was heartbroken to hear that beautiful Prudence had passed away... I cried watching your hand caressing her ... When my second cat was loosing her battle to stay with me, I slept the last two nights on the kitchen floor because this was where she wanted to be ... and she passed away in my arms, wrapped up in her blanket at the vet. Kate, I am so sorry about the loss of your dear Prudence! Unfortunately, our fur babies have to go to heaven at some time and it is always too soon. I started giving my cat canned food instead of kibble after I read how unhealthy kibble is for them to eat all the time. I mix water into the canned food to make a gruel which my cat loves and he never leaves anything in his dish. I recently found your channel and love listening to you. I am a 73 year old living in Massachusetts and was going a little crazy with staying home most of the time. I ran across your channel and just love it. You have given me a lot of inspiration to do crafty things which I have been putting off for lack of motivation.Thank you for your cheerful spirit and friendly way of connecting to your viewers!

I am so very sorry to hear that you've lost your precious Prudence, Kate. I commend you for deciding to bring her back home last March and letting her be in the loving comfort of familiar surroundings, come what may. I had a cat with lymphosarcoma 16 years ago, and he underwent chemotherapy for 5 months but died before that treatment was completed. The treatment was worse than the disease. I will never put another cat through that kind of ordeal again. I mention this to offer reassurances that compassionate palliative care at home is often the kinder choice. May wonderful memories of your days and hours with Prudence bring you peace. Blessings, Kate.

What a sweet story about prudence! It’s so hard to lose a fur-baby! We took in a beautiful stray ginger kitty. My grands named him Pumpkin. We had him for years. And then he got sick. We discussed taking him to the vet too. But one night he walked up my husbands chest and laid down and took his last breath! I still miss him! The cats mat matches your beautiful curtains perfectly!

I know it's been 3 years since your dedication to Prudence. However I wanted to say, it was beautiful. Your kindness to her and sharing her time with her feline family was so typical of you and your love of your pets and for nature around you. Thank you for sharing such a difficult story.
