Oh! Hello Amie! I am really pleased to be able to thank you personally ! I checked out many patterns on Pinterest and yours was by far the best, simplest, most straightforward to use. I’;m so pleased you like what i did with it! Agnes - at 15 months - knew exactly what to do with her - she gave her the biggest, longest hug! Many many thanks xxxxxxxxxxx

I have a Humpty-Dumpty metal pincushion from the turn of the century (late 1800s-early 1900s) where you stab the pins into the velvet circle atop his head. Also a smaller one that is the metal head/shoulders replica of a crying child! Those Victorians had a mean streak... ha Most of the others in my collection are animals or birds.

Absolutely, boy should have dolls as well. I think it helps to form their softer side a wee bit. My neighbor's son, when he was a little boy of 5 or so, would head straight for my dolls that I had set up at a little table having a bit of a tea party. He would play quietly for some time .

Kate, what a lovely treasure for Agnes and a joy for you in the making! I have my metal doll trunk with my baby doll and her wardrobe made by my Mom in 1953. She use to sew while I was napping and make me and my Dollie dresses that matched on her 1946 Singer Featherweight machine. I sew today on that very machine and hearing the lull of it almost puts me to sleepy nap time. I've made my kids clothes on it, my grandkids toys and clothes and most recently quilts and doll clothes for the great grand twins. Hope they have their treasures 70 years from now along with my trunk of treasures. You are a fabulous Grandma. Enjoy playing dollies with Agnes.

Such a lovely little doll. I hope Agnes will love the dolly . My daughter was my first child. She did not like dolls or lacy dresses, as a matter of fact she would scream and cry if you put on one of those baby dresses with lace around the neck. My mother tried her best to make her a prissy little girl, my daughter would not have she would scream and cry till you put her a little cotton Top on. I kept all the dolls mom bought her, still in the boxes and when she got older I made her a doll and clothes for the doll for a Christmas present. She kept the doll and clothes for her little girl which she ever had. She had 3 boys. So she gave them back to me and I gave the doll and clothes to a Co- worker for her granddaughter with a wooden cradle. She is now 52 years old and still does not like lacey clothes. Might try making some dollies a d clothes to sell. I loved watching you make items, knit and design. Lord I need my creative mojo back. Hope Agnes loved her dolly and will treasure it because grandma made it especially for her. Happy New Year and may it be a better year in 2021. I think I just wrote to a letter. Love to you from a friend in South Carolina, USA .❤😊

Adorable!! What a wonderful gift for Agnes! When my children were small I made hundreds of cloth dolls to sell at craft shows. It was a way to make a little extra money. I so loved making every doll. So much fun!! My kids are grown now and I have a grand daughter that is NOT a doll person. But I make doll clothes for other my friend's grand daughter that does like dolls and dolls for charities. I've never out grown loving dolls. :)

The doll is adorable. Watching you create her brought to mind a memory of my youngest daughter and her favorite teddy bear she named Ed. Over the years, his fur was lovingly rubbed off and his nose lost it's shape and fur. My mom replaced the nose several times and made a vest to cover the worn away fur. My daughter is now 50 and still has that teddy bear and loves it just as much as when she was a toddler. Agnes will treasure the doll made with your loving hands for years to come.

Bravo Kate! My granny used to make sweaters/jumpers for our dolls and my mom made doll clothes. Lucky Agnes, her parents, and granny, too. Love is made from acts such as these and the memories last forever!!💕💜☮

Years ago I made a China doll for my grandmother. She always wanted one as a child and never had one. I ordered the head, arms and legs, but I sewed the rest like you did, much bigger, though, and made the dress. My grandmother’s name was Agnes! I just found you on KZbin and enjoy you very much!
