That my friend is the problem. There is no "best for everything". Each tool I own is really good at a lot of stuff, but is missing something. The good news is that these days most are "Good enough". I own a 16K Snap-on Zeus. It's garbage. I prefer this tool 10 to 1 over it.

I think that would depend on the car, but it's a much more complicated thing. You'll need the pin from the manufacture for that specific vehicle. To get the pin, you'd have to verify ownership.

It can be tricky. If the blank key will still turn the car on to KOEO you should be able to delete all keys and program the new ones. If not, You are looking at a dealer fix.

How does the elite compare to the pro3+ in general? Does the 3s really deserve the price difference?. How much is topology of a real difference?

To be honest, other than the larger screen and a few tweeks to the OS, they are much the same. Of course the biggest difference is that the Pro3+ is wireless where the Elite must be plugged in to the OBD2 port. Both are really impressive with the coverage and value for their money. I've owned a lot of Snap-on, OTC, and Matco products and this one for the price crushes all of them.

I have 2007 kia amanti i bought a new ignition lock cylinder off eBay it came with new keys to it I installed it in the car when i turn the key to start car dont start but all the lights come on do i need this device you have to program it or can i program the car without it i still have my original key but long story short it got stuck in the ignition 😂

This is what you need! As long as the car powers on, you can program the keys to match the Immo.

It does have the ability to turn on functions. On my Mirage I added fog lights and used it to activate that feature in the ETACS System. Not sure about that particular item on the Toyota, but it certainly does have those features.

Not at all. Kingbolen sells updates on their website and a handful of other companies do as well. I was able to update mine for less than $320.

Yes. You can clear all existing remotes and keys if you want to. Then you can program a fresh set. It's in the same listing I show here. It's the ad new keys or remove all option.

You can do about 50% with just the tool, the other 50% will need it. Mostly the European ones will need the module.

I will have to double check. Some makes and models have the option to delete all existing keys from memory and allow you to start with a fresh key. I'd check in the programming section to see if your car offers that option. The bigger issue is how do you power up the car to gain access to the computers with no key?

Well, I bought an OEM key from O'Reilly's. I used the autel km100 and was able to use that to program the new one without the original. The new key didn't power the truck on fully before programming but would turn the truck electrical on, such as radio and dash info allowing me to program the key with that device.

The only problem is Launch has joined NASTF - which means key and IMMO programming is locked out unless you pay for access - $49 to Launch, then $425/year to NASTF - *IF* you qualify! which requires a big insurance policy and other crap - they're looking to kill the DIY/Home shop guys. I'm pissed, I have Three Launch scanners - and they're all going to be paperweights for me now.

my understanding is that the simple key programming will remain the same, it is the more complex programing that needs to change. There is a huge problem with car theft and this is one way of trying to combat it- If people would stop being turds and stealing stuff that does not belong to them, it would not be an issue

Just saw this comment, which is very interesting. I got a Launch scanner little over a year ago, about 6 months ago I used it to successfully copy a new key fob for a 2015 Hyundai Santa Fe, tried in November to copy a new fob for a 2013 Kia Optima and it wouldn't work which surprised me because Kia and Hyundai are basically same vehicles, that would explain it if the software for the Launch has been updated and blocks that. In fact they just had in the news here a couple of days ago an article about this car theft ring that have been stealing cars at various airports in the west and Texas, right in the article they mention that they were using scanners made by Autel to reprogram keys, my first thought was " oh, oh, the government will probably jump right on that and want them banned or make it hard to purchase them". Punish everybody because of a few. But to go even farther with the comment about DIYers, there are those who would like to see changing your own oil at home banned and basically any type of automotive or home repair banned and force you to call "licensed professionals", doesn't matter whether they know what they are doing or not. Hopefully that mentality gets put on hold with the Trump administration but who knows. Anyway I was going to ask about if you had had any luck coding/matching new fob with Kia's or Hyundai's but the previous comment looks like that might be my problem.

Good afternoon, I tried this with a Launch X431 ProS V+ and a 2015 RAV4 XLE but it always fails when it gets to the insert new key part. I get a pop up with a communication error between key and ECU. I made sure the key had the same letter on the blade.

You should be ok. As long as you can turn the key to the on position to power up the electronics, you are good.
