Programming keyfob on 2015 Nissan Versa Note

This is a video on how to program your Nissan versa note 2015 key-fob. I got the key cut at Lowes hardware for 2 bucks. I bought a spare key from them and had them cut both. I paid 18 bucks on eBay for the keys, but only one would program, but considering one key from the Nissan dealership is 160, for 20 bucks I have on remote cut key, and 2 spare door keys. This worked perfectly! I just wish i would've seen this video BEFORE my husband spent $110 for 2 keys at the dealership. They wanted to charge us an additional $125 for each key they program!! It took us less than 2 min to program both keys ourselves. Thank you so much for the video!!!!

2016 here...took about 7 or 8 insertion then hazards came on. Nothing happened when switched to Acc but when switched to ON position hazards flashed again. Thx for the vid man I appreciate it!

Works with a 2016 Versa Note S. Saved me about $60 bucks. $16 (2 keys) $4(2 keys cut)=$20 total (2 working keys👍). $80 for a local locksmith to provide 2 keys cut and programmed. Thanks for the video! *Note: you use the old working key in the ignition in Aux. While hitting the buttons on the new key.

This video was very helpful I was frustrated to come to find that I bought my car with only one key what I wanted my Nissan dealer to make me a second key they were going to charge me $300 when I went to a locksmith a locksmith wanted to charge me 200 I bought a blank off of eBay for $15 and I program the key so I could have an emergency key standby to get me into the vehicle in case if I locked myself out of the vehicle this worked beautifully this video was a big help and it only cost me $15 now I've already been told that if I take my key to a Home Depot a Home Depot will cut the key for free

Have a 2014 Versa Note and it worked fine. If you are doing more than one key after you do the first key hit the door unlock on the car and then the door lock on the car and then press the lock button on the second key. Cost $18 for two keys from EBay and $6 to get both keys cut. Locksmith wanted $185 for one key.

By "transponder", he means security/immobilizer chip. If your car has an immobilizer chip (evident by blinking red car icon light on dash), you can only program the new key to lock/unlock the doors...it will not start the car. You will need to pay a locksmith or a nissan dealer program the security chip in order to start the car...and it's expensive!

Nissan Versa Note, 2015. The car key programming won't work for the OPEN DOOR button on the key. The CLOSE DOOR button does program. What can be done about this?

It worked for my Versa Note 2019. Well not at first, after trying it neither key would lock or unlock the doors. But new key did start the engine. Played with it some more, next thing I know both keys worked locked & unlocked the doors. Not sure what I did?? Opened the door maybe?? Any how thanks for the instructional video. I ended up spending a total of $17.00 for key (e-bay) and the cutting (local locksmith). Benton Nissan wanted over $100.00 for the key and $98.00 for the programming, some deal, eh?

No. Its not in the description but in the video I state this only works for keys without a transponder chip. My 2010 had no transponder chip. If you just want an extra key fob, this will work for ya

@@jamescc2010 meant my 2015 but same response lol. If It doesnt have a transponder chip this will work great. Easiest way to tell is go get a cheap copy made at Lowe's, just the key and see if your car starts. If it does, no transponder

Hi, how to cut the key from a machine? When I try to cut the copies, I insert my car key in it. It recognize my key as a car key. It doesn't allow me to continue. Can anyone show me how can I cut the key.? Or show me which place allow me to cut the key. I bought 2 copies on ebay too

Dont own the car anymore. This video is for the exact make and model of car. I got the key cut at lowes hardware. My car did not have a transponder, just a dumb key. Sounds like whatever version you have has a transponder

Sorry my versa is long gone. I'm going to say you are not doing it right as there are comments from 2017 owners that have had success. The only issue might be if your versa has a transponder key. If not these instructions should work!

No idea. Bought it off eBay. All the details of what you need are in the description of the video. Just make sure yours match the original. Watch the video and read the description and you should get a good idea what you need. Don't own the car anymore. Hope this helps

I did it and got the Fob to unlock and lock the doors, but the key won't start the engine. I noticed he never uses the key to start the engine in the video also.

Mine started my engine. My 2015 did not have a chip in the key. Yours might depending on the year and variant.

@@wuddup321 is it physically not turning, or is the car not starting? If its physically not turning, its cut wrong. If it is turning, take your original key and place it right next to the keyhole and use your new key to start the engine. If it starts, you have a transponder chip. If thats so, the only option is buying a key from the dealership, though you can always cut off the key part of your new key or take it apart and remove the metal key part and just use it as fob on your keychain!

@@Mr_Jarec yeah it won't turn at all, weird thing is it will work on the door lock but only to lock the door which makes me feel like it was cut right. But holding the original key next to it didn't help start the engine.

@@wuddup321 if it doesnt turn at all, then its not cut right. Holding the old key up to the ignition would only work if the key was cut right and turns if it had a transponder chip. I got my keys cut at lowes hardware. Both keys turned in the door locks and ignition. I dont own the car anymore. Only thing I can suggest is try getting another key cut.
