Programming Orbit Battery Operated Underground Timer (57860)

I just installed a new Orbit 57860 timer with in-line valve, explicitly following the installation and programming instructions. The timer starts and stops when it's supposed to, but the valve doesn't open. Also, the manual start function works, but again, the valve doesn't open. The connector from the solenoid is fully seated in the #1 receptacle. I opened the bleed screw 1/2 turn counter-clockwise and left it open for about 30 seconds.

I have 3 stations running for 28 minutes and the 4th for 10 minutes start times are. 2am, 2:30am, 3am and 3:30am. I have them set to run everyday of the week but they are still running at 5:30am. Why is that? Thank you.

Will this timer work in a above ground valve ? Anti siphon valve ?? In other words is it a weather proof timer ??

I have timer that is connected to a valve (which was working good) that just stopped working. I thought it might be the solenoid and disconnected it. I then saw the little low battery sign and changed the batteries. After hooking things back up the timer works fine but the valve won't open now. If I turn the little primer screw the water will start but once I close it the valve will close and the water stops. What am I doing wrong now?

just have a quick question regarding this item. can you please confirm if I can start each of the 4 valves at different/individual start times - eg valve 1 at 7am, valve 2 at 8am, valve 3 at 9am, valve 4 at 10am? The 2 automatic programs are confusing me. Does that mean I always have to operate two of the valves at the same time? Cheers

There are 4 start times per program and for every start time entered it will run the stations programmed on that program in sequence one after the other. They will never run at the same time.

Hi I am having issues with this timer. I have everything well connected but when I set up everything the water is running and the timer doesn't stop water and instead is stopping the water at the time I had programmed to star the water. What do I have to do? Please let me know

Hello. I have one of these installed, when station 1 comes on, it works fine. Station 2, not so much. It'll click, then the sprikler heads pop for a split second, then nothing. Any advice? Thank ya'll in advance!

Did the Splinker reduce the pressure? For example if the inlet is 50 psi the outlet will change (40 psi) ?

My timer turns on the same time every morning 5 hours after the original program that I have set, and I bought a second timer thinking the first one was defective. Bolth do the same thing. Though it might be to much pressure, so I put in a 50 psi in, same thing! Love the product, help!!

I have the Orbit 57860 Orbit Programmable 4 Zone and the Orbit 57861 DC solenoids - will these solenoids work with any Orbit control valve - I have the Orbitz 57253 valve head and I want to install it. Will the DC solenoids work with these valves ?

I'm using the 57861s with 57460 valves (I have 3/4 in. pvc lines, not 1 in.). I just replaced the included solenoids with the 861s.

When using program A only, a 3 day interval, and a start time of 9 am; when will the 1st watering cycle occur? Day 1, day 2, or day 3 Can you make program changes without erasing memory of last watering cycle? Does turning the timer "off" erase memory of last watering. Cycle? Does using the manual watering button reset the memory of last watering cycle?

Hi Orbit. I have 5 of these in my little farm pastures. I keep having problems with the timers coming on at times that are not set either in program A or B? When I check out the timer it is flashing back and forth between the time of day and the time remaining for the duration? I can't figure out what is going on.Please help

Hello, we're sorry for the frustration. On these timers, the display will flash between the current time and the next scheduled start time when you are within 24 hours of the next start time. However, if this is coming on when it's not scheduled to, then that may indicate a programming error or other problem. First, make sure you're not setting multiple start times, as each start time will run through all the zones for the scheduled run time. Multiple start times will continue to run programs in sequence. Thank you for the response. Am I to understand that I cannot set unique start times for each zone? For example on a single timer I want to run zone 1 at 7:00 am for 3 hours; then Zone 2 at 10:00 am for 3 hours, then zone 3 at 4 pm for 30 minutes; ending with zone 4 at 6:30 pm for 120 minutes?

Don’t know if you’ll respond but solenoid comes on, will not close, unplug it, no difference, turn water off for a minute, turn water on, no difference. Apparently these low voltage solenoids have this problem. I am concerned if I put a new solenoid in it will do the same. Thoughts?

I'm having the same issue. I have two sections scheduled for the same time AM and PM. However, that's not how it's working. It's as if the sections have two different start times. For example: at the scheduled 9AM time, section 1 will begin; after section 1 has completed its cycle, section 2 will then begin its cycles. It as if I have section 1 scheduled for 9 AM and section 2 scheduled for 915 AM. Is there a way to correct this and have section 1 & 2 (even 3 & 4 if that was my application) all/both start at the EXACT same time? Thank you in advance!

@@christibbits3885 No, I think you need to use A and B. start time for A and start time for B, not for stations. then in HOW LONG you need to choose in start time A which stations you need to run and for how long. then swich to B and choose which stations you need to run and for how long. The start time for A will run all the stations one after another .. Also when B start all the stations in B will run one after another. Therefore, you can run all stations connected to A, 4 times in one single day if you choose 4 starting time. Thus, choose one start time for every programs A and B.

You have to click on reset in the begining. Then after programming all your stations you need to put the timer on auto then off for 1 minuts to close all the valves then auto again. The timer now is ready to work !
