Hello. Why this trick doesn't work on NGC machines? I have always use setting 162 on on older Haas machines. Recently I have bought new VF3 mill and this setting is on, but controler doesn;t add dot on numbers. Should I make something more? Or this is not available in NGC?

The "G" = "G00" is actually quite interesting. My machine can index at 0 when I type "GC" = "G0 C0" The reason the control does this is because you could also set a G-Code with a variable. On my machine an example would be: #500=1 G[#500] X17. F0.05 The machine would move to X17. with G1 and a feed rate of 0.05mm/rotation If #500 was never declined, the control sets it to null. other programming languages use "undefined". When you, however try to use a undefined #500 as a G-Code, the machine interprets this as zero. #500= G[#500] X17. would be G0 X17.0 the same applies if you give no variable OR number at all, e.g. "GC" = "G0 C0" You can move to X0.0 and Z0.0 by typing GXZ. Most machinists don't know that and they'll absolutely hate you for it, but for MDI it's fine, i guess

Ok, before i change the setting 162, please let me know what happens if you have positions like x3.25. Should it be X325 in settg 162? Or does it automatically figure out to put the decimal in after first digit? What about Y125? How would the machine know to render it Y1.25" or Y12.5?? Maybe it prompts you and i should try it? thanks
@ddhts6 жыл бұрын
Oh, I see that it will just put a decimal at the end of any number if left out, so you just have to manually 'override' as needed...cool setting...saved strokes are saved time!

Vignesh Maddy you need to know the material cut speed or sfm, diameter, and cutter type to figure that. Just look up charts and calculators
