I do STA until the first contraction and then 25 meters dynamic. It`s great for getting used to having contractions while doing dynamic.

Yes, it's one of the variation how STA+DYN can be done!👌

I completely agree that putting a sta before dyn, introduces a special ingredient that will bring you to perform a dyn like if the sta has never happened. The first time I’ve tried this exercise (with 30” and then 1 min sta) I remained shocked by the fact that I was able to perform 50 meters dyn. The only thing I’m supposing to help such a lot, should be the relaxation introduced by the Sta. Last time i was able to do 1’30’’ sta and 75 meters dyn, but if I try todo the 75 dyn bf directly, it seems to me that the two exercises are similar (so I end the 75mt with suffering). Probably I am still missing a lot how to relax before Dyn

Try this - do some easy distance (30-50) meters, but as slow as you can. Almost in a STA mode. The goal is total relaxation even after contractions starts.

Hi Sergei, I tried this excercise as soon as you've uploaded this video. It's amazing how efficiently the STA phase helps in reaching the right mental state. Today I combined it with its reverse pair (DYN + STA) that you introduced in another video, and the result turned out to be a well rounded little training. If I add the blue sky, and that the Sun shone into the pool, I can tell you that was a treat. Thank you!

This exercise is called “pingu” in Sweden for some reason…anyway an excellent way to get into the zone and dive in a relaxed manner. The reversed pingu, has the static hold at the end.

How do you translate "pingu" to English?

I like the idea of sta + dynamic, be it with small numbers as 50 m is still a very big challenge for me, including tons of contractions... So, you'll understand I don't like your "reversed pingu"... That's rather 😱...

@@KAIZENFREEDIVING It's not a word, I don't know the origin of the phrase actually. The only "pingu" I am aware of is the animated penguin en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pingu

@@jodecaesteker3971 yes, I much prefer the standard pingu! :) Another version of combining static and dynamic in pool is to do "aspetto", ie. if you as an example plan a 50 meter dive in 25 meter pool, you pause at the bottom after the first 25 before diving back, supposed to mimic the free fall part of a deep dive, effort wise.
