Loved the video, especially your explanation of a real truck driver in my opinion it was spot on, well from my point of view anyway. I finally bought a 1979 KW cab-over 5 years old with a single bunk, it had a 3406A model cat in it. I did most of my own maintenance work when I put the old girl to bed in 1994 it had a 3406B Engine in it the original of course just upgraded and a double bunk except for the engine upgrade all the work was done by me. I put the old girl up in 1994, bought a GMC General and put that cat engine in it replacing a 8V92 Detroit what a piece of junk engine that was, and went to hauling logs in Maine until I retired in 1999. So you see that is why I like your trucking and logging videos so much, plus I like the sawmill videos a lot also. I dont comment much because as you can see I sometimes get carried away and don't know when to stop.🤣

Yeah I've been a trucker since 86 and things have changed so much in the industry since then. It's no longer any fun out on the road. Nobody talks to each other anymore at truckstops. Or getting loaded unloaded..and the good times we had on the cb radio back then too. Looking good Wade great job Dan..

I love it great project! I has me a new project. I found an 86 Long hood Autocar, the ones that resemble a Peterbilt. It has been sitting 7 years. Has 3406, 13 spd., Hendrickson with 46k rears, wet line, even has big stacks and external breathers!!

I drove 9200 and 9400 idi Navistars for a bit. You are right when you say a real truck driver is the guy who wants a good working truck. I drove a 9400 for a company that didn't know a good truck and was bean counting the poor thing to death. I never understood why people would buy an underpowered truck for a job and think they are saving in fuel costs. I kept asking to have it turned up from 435hp to 500 and the owner of the company said it would cost her too much in fuel if she did that. I was pulling flatbeds with this truck with loads grossing 32-48K.

Fennell Forestry, Australia have put their first electric log truck to work (diesel Kenworth converted by Janus, 720hp ) .The update of the JCB hydrogen combustion engine on the 'Harrys Farm" youtube. The hydrogen combustion engine runs at the same rpm and has the same torque curve to a diesel engine. Peak efficiency is claimed to be better than a diesel engine. The downsides appear to be the turbo boost pressure needs to be several times higher than a diesel engine and 2.2 lbs of hydrogen is equivalent to 0.8 US gallons of diesel means more fill time stoppages at the moment with the 5000 psi on vehicle hydrogen storage tanks.

Hey wade you should use a 4300 grill on her cause it is the first truck to use that cab! Lol look it up! 1970's 4300 is the same cab as the 9200z-9900s ! Their is Suttle different. But the heat ports are In the same spots lol and the 4300 was when the eagle badging started
