..if you haven't already done it, check and adjust the motorcycle rear shock sag..it really can make the difference in bike ride as well.
@tularosamoto3 жыл бұрын
Sag can make a big difference. Unfortunately, I'm light enough that I'm all the way out on the Scout. The Scout was designed for a heavier rider than I. Us skinny guys just get bounced around no matter what we do. ;-)

I've seen that Progressive also have replacement fork springs for the front, along with changing its oil from 10W to 20W. That might even it out.

You might lower the air pressure in your tires just a couple of pounds and that should help absorb more shock.

You're going to love it! Have fun. If you haven't seen my "First Upgrade" video yet, you may want to check it out.

TM -- which 444s did you get? There's 3, Standard Weight 444-4068B, Heavy-duty (250+ lbs.) and Super Heavy Duty for Touring Models only - 350+ lbs. Also, I'm not clear on your statement that "...the backend now is so much softer so much more responsive" sounds ironic.

I got the regular weight shock. Prior to the upgrade, the back of the bike was rock hard. It just jolted me out of the seat at every bump. Now it absorbs more of the bumps and responds better to the road rather than just jumping all over the place. It's still not great - the shock only has two inches of travel - but it's better than before.

@@tularosamoto I hear you about the Scout stock shocks. There virtually invincible. I hit a highway bridge separation on a Scout at 55mph and it felt like somebody took one HUGE hard whack with a sledgehammer to the bottom of my spine. For an instant I was going to pullover on the side ramp to regain my composure. It was like getting punched in me stones by Connor McGregor!

Did it have any effect on the wobble?

What wobble?

Did you go for the 11.5 inch 444s?
@tularosamoto2 жыл бұрын
I did. I wish I'd gone with the 12" shocks. Would have given me a little more cushion and increased the rake angle in the front end. Probably not that big a deal either way though.

Is this good for 2 up riding ?
@tularosamoto4 ай бұрын
Yes it is. The shock can be quickly adjusted to make it stiffer for two up.

Is it $600 worth difference?
@tularosamoto Жыл бұрын
I was happy with the upgrade. Definitely makes the bike more rideable. Whether it’s worth it or not I can’t say. In the scheme of bike upgrades, it’s not that expensive soooo…

Is it a 12" progressive 444s?

I’m not sure what your question is.
