It's our money to begin with that we pay in. We are ENTITLED to it because it's ours. PERIOD! A entitlement is basically a right. We have a right to our own money the Government told us it was saving for us to be returned in our later years for our retirement. We have no rights to a Tax Cut, that is absurd. The only way you could argue that a tax cut is an entitlement is via semantics. Being that tax policy is signed into law or a contract, that technically makes it a right, although most would argue that our real "Rights," are things that can not ever be revoked or changed, if it is, it was never a right to begin with, it was a simply a temporary privilege.

Although Patrick Bet-David has been successful in his niche, his perspective on politics appears limited. For instance, Social Security not only helps cover living costs for individuals beyond the traditional working age of 65-70, but it also plays a crucial role in sustaining the broader economy. A significant portion of the economy relies on the spending driven by these retirement benefits, contributing to its overall stability.

The problem with Patrick’s perspective is that he only thinks about social services in terms of how they affect him. Since he’s doing fine, he doesn’t see why he should have to help anyone else. But social services aren’t just for the vulnerable-they’re about keeping society stable for everyone, including the wealthy. Without them, we’d see mass poverty, higher crime, and crumbling public infrastructure, all of which would drag down the quality of life for everyone. Many Americans aren't able to save for retirement because of low wages, rising costs of living, and lack of access to affordable healthcare. Patrick seems to think he could ignore that chaos, but history shows societies without strong safety nets eventually fall apart-and that impacts everyone, no matter how rich they are. Social services aren’t charity; they’re what keep society running smoothly.

I understand both Seder’s view and PBD’s view. I think they both convey good arguments for and against government intervention in everyday lives. That being said, the government AT THE VERY LEAST needs to set price caps through negotiation if not socialize the entire healthcare system. Healthcare is absolutely out of control solely because of the private sector. That is inarguably the truth.

I was in the military for 20 years and have worked as a contractor for the government for the last 10 years. My wife works in civil service for one of the department agencies. The biggest complaint I have is that the government is so inefficient and they do not care about trying to do things better. If there is a problem in the government, there is no incentive to fix or improve the process. We either hire more people (who want to work remotely), throw more money at the problem (which is wasted), or ignore the problem. At least in a business, you can complain about the process and the business has an incentive to improve the situation or else you can go somewhere else. Competition improves customer service and quality, but there are no competitors to the government, so they have no incentive to improve.

It's not the government that's inefficient; it's the morons who so often get elected and then appoint cronies and incompetents to positions to administer these programs. This then triggers a counter position by opposition to stop the administrators from doing their jobs.

@brianj.4890 the reason why competition works is because there are no monopolies when there is competition. The reason competition is eliminated in the USA is because nobody has enforced anti trust and also encouraged mergers of giant companies into behemoths

@ this is pretty flawed logic. Its theory that doesn’t match reality. Either way, republicans and corporate Dems bought and paid for by moneyed interests stifle any meaningful enforcement of anti trust laws. Capitalism breeds monopolies. Always has.

Rich people shouldn't be getting social security checks. The problem with Medicare is the same as wages. Our wages aren't keeping up and Medicare won't either. Currently we passed a new trend. Our children will be less off. This becomes even a bigger issue, not only surviving today, but retirement if it even exists. The answer is not to privatization. That doesn't work.. at all.

7:00 here 11:04 and here a tactic of the dishonest by Bet David: we need a word for this: weasel squeezel? "actually sam, claim claim claim claim, but I want to get back to subject X." "I'm responding to what you just said, Sam. BUT ALSO HERE'S A BUNCH MORE SEPARATE CLAIMS BUT let's change the subject real fast instead of you responding to them." Bet David does this a couple times in this video, and it's something I saw Bill O'Reilly do a lot and also Piers Morgan. Like you respond then quickly sneak in a bunch more absurd claims then change the subject. No, let people respond until they are satisfied they've responded, IF you care about getting to truth, that is. in a healthy convo you never make a point then just change the subject, you ALWAYS give them a chance to respond. until you have clarified the actual disagreement and said "okay, so we disagree on how that works fundamentally." then you can more on. if you care about being honest, that is.

Essentially BPD believes in trickle down economics. The problem is most of those in power with money do not grant enough opportunities and funding to those trying to get ahead. They want to maintain the power and money for themselves to keep themselves in that position.

We pay directly into those programs. It's not like SNAP benefits or other assistance programs were part of our payroll tax goes into funding those programs. We pay a separate specific tax for social security and medicare/medicaid. They are funded by their very own taxes and therefore we are owed these benefits. If I'm going to pay into these programs for the vast majority of my life then I absolutely expect and deserve the very same benefits that my hard work and tax dollars provided to retirees and others that qualified for those benefits. I have listened to the idiotic and irresponsible arguments about privatizing these programs. If that happens, I guarantee that the programs will disappear and however long they manage to last, the benefits will be drastically less and way less responsive to the needs of beneficiaries.
