I was 13 when It was released. 64 now. Remember it being on tv .

I just bought this album second hand on vinyl for $14 last week. It was an old pressing from the early 80’s and was well kept

I know I'm in the very very vast minority here.... but God this album is atrocious. Sorry, but it's objectively true, I don't make the rules. 😊 Was this guy's career basically made for him by William Friedkin? Would Oldfield be remembered today without that? I'm not so sure. Kino was awesome though, I promise I don't hate everything! And I had literally thought to myself yesterday morning that it would be hilarious if you threw in some awful nonsense like Love Beach in towards the end, make us all suffer a bit and earn our way to finishing this epic Progust event!

absolutely disagree this album is pure youth, ambition, creativity and musical obsession

The album was a hit before William Friedkan used it in The Exorcist

@matttuck500 - disagree. Chicken and egg here. Would Friedkin’s movie been the success it was without the music???

@@MrGnb123 Absolutely yes, unquestionably. There is in fact no chicken here. Nor for that matter is there any egg. Christians love to eat up their own bullshit and this film served it to them on a silver platter. And it was considered super shocking back then. I'm sure the music works in the film just fine, no doubt ppl still remember those parts of the film, but lol no, I doubt very many ppl in the 1970s were waiting in line because Sir Michael Oldfield deigned to grace such a film with his divine presence.

Well I actually agree with all of that. It is all of those. Only problem is it still sucked. 😁
