This is standard procedure. I’ve been playing for 25 years and own a Gibson Les Paul and Epiphone semi-hollow body Sheraton. The Gibson design was developed using an Epiphone neck. Gibson bought out Epiphone. I have also owned a Fender Strat. Only Gibson guitars are made in the USA while Epiphone and Fender are partially assembled in the USA, but primarily assembled in Asia. But guess what, ALL of these brands have international parts in them or on them. Even Gibson. Trump guitars were made the same way. They have international parts but are assembled in the United States by a veteran owned company. Lastly, Gibson was playing politics with Trump and the cease and desist. Do you know how many models of guitar out there use the Les Paul design? LOL. It’s countless and none of them were issued cease and desist notices. Gibson had TDS!!

I've mentioned elsewhere that Ibanez, Yamaha, Tokai and others made bolt-on LP copies that have been considered desirable.
@alfsmith4936Күн бұрын
@@PatternRecognitionMusic The bolt on necks aren't the desirable models, unless they're Fender copies. Some people like cheap Japanese guitars but only because they're cheap and look old.
@PatternRecognitionMusicКүн бұрын
@alfsmith4936 I would suggest checking out the market on those older LP copies I mentioned - you might be surprised. Sure, set neck Studio Lords for example sell for a bit more than the bolt-on versions, but the bolt-ons are still quite desirable and very well made.
@w1zard0f0hКүн бұрын
Bolt on necks are better. They sound better.
@PatternRecognitionMusicКүн бұрын
@w1zard0f0h I think that's kind of subjective. They're certainly easier to manufacture well, while set necks are more labor intensive to get right.

I have a Squire Vintage Modified Strat made in India, in 2007. The body is Indian Cedro (Cedar?), and it’s an HSS, loaded with Duncan Designed pickups, which sound really good, so I didn’t change them out.
