It's just that the little critters are different from your biome. You start slow and let your body adjust and develop the gut biome that can deal with it and you'll be fine. It doesn't mean that the food was bad, it just means that you're in an area with different bacteria than your body is used to.

This is why I go to Mexico year after year after year. No other country has street food like Mexico. I don´t know how they do it, but everything I try I love. It just tastes so good!!! Love Mexico and can´t wait for July when I visit Chiapas and Guatemala!!

When I went to Mexico the same thing happened to me! They told me is called "Montezuma´s curse" (I think is an awesome name) and it happens to everyone who is not used to so many grease and chile. btw, is awesome to check your videos every now and then... to get ideas to cook or inspiration to enjoy life! Keep rocking dudes!

Totally enjoyed this video! And all thru it couldn't believe how you were eating the street food and not getting sick...until the END! I've been a Mexican traveler for 8 plus years...the only street food I eat is where I can see running water. The locals are accustomed to the bacteria found in their street food....our systems have to be built up to it. So glad you didn't rant about getting sick....so many people have the wrong idea of Mexico..the culture, food, people are the BEST!

Im Mexican and I can tell you truly got some of the BEST street food. Smart choice to go to markets where everything is cheap and freaking delicious. I also think you got sick cause you got some "strong" dishes, with a lot of chili and all the street food is very oli, even us we dont get to mix all those dishes like in a raw cause all are very fat full. But I bet it was worth every bite jeje

Nice video! you show our fast food ("antojitos" or "garnacha"). If you came back you should try the main course (mole, enchiladas, chilaquiles, pozole, chiles en nogada, mixhote, cochinita pibil, birria, pescado a la talla, pescado zarandeado, etc). its a shame you get sick. I think it was the water in the street they don't use water filters.

I've traveled around the world and I'm always afraid to get sick like you did. I don't try food carts and I know they're the best. I've seen my friends get really sick. One tip though, go to the doctor and ask for antibiotics,I'm not sure what they're called but they are to kill stomach bugs and infections. Every time I travel, even if it's not a food cart I start to get a sick. I think my body's used to the chemical filled foods here in the US, idk. I take them pills and immediately I get better.
