IIRC that's how it plays out in the original game. The beggar gives you money so you'll have money to give him. This game has... an interesting sense of humor, to say the least.

Ooh, a crash less than two minutes in. It is still as unstable as it was when I tried it! Though my crash was a little different; I had the fabric of the game's reality slowly unravel because I made the mistake of reading a signpost.

It sounds like MIDI with surprisingly good 8-bit samples. Still, it's very grating, cos the tone colour is more like the Oracle games (which also had some versions of Link's Awakening music with the tone colour changed for the worse). But the MIDI sample is even more painful than the Oracle games.

I can't decide if this is better or worse than the original: it's somehow less hideous to look at and doesn't have the interminable load times when moving from screen to screen, but it's several orders of magnitude harder to listen to and broken in a more fundamental way. As much as I enjoy watching Jared suffer, I think there's no shame in abandoning this!

Does this game lack sound effects? 1:37 Save often because this game is unstable. I hate that. This game should have been a rom hack. It may be more stable if it was. However The Wario Land color hack is buggy and doesn't seem to work properly on most devices. That hack was not well made. I don't recall getting a glitch that gave me infinite money. You lucky bastard. Wait you actually figured out how the glitch works? I should totally make note of this if I ever play this again. I wish this game was in full color. OH GOD! HE DID A BILLION DAMAGE! Blank text boxes? I think you broke the game Jared. Why didn't you buy the ring? That is not the same ring you have before.

You would think because its a homebrew and uses gb studio (i think that was used), that the game is completely jank cause of it. Given might be an unfair comparison, but that crunchyroll gbc game, which was made with the same thing i believe, shows that alot of stuff missing in this game is possible to do (sound effects, sword animation, enemy hit effects, less dodgy menu). So whoever made this could've used the time to sharpen this game more than how it is now. And it pains me that this game still crashes in 2024. I tried this back in 2022 and have it in my analogue pocket and it was the same quality back then as it is now.

I think the Pirate deducted your money and it wrapped around when it went below 000 instead of stopping at 000. Also, have you not played the Zelda Oracle games? A lot of these characters in the towns are from those games. Also the issues you're running in to may be caused by the emulator you're using but that's just a theory, it's very plausible that this game is just badly programmed lol. At 27:00 you enter a shop with a candle and a SWORD and you never try to get the sword D:
