Just in case you plan on using this in a project, be aware that those differential gears are not meant to run with a big difference in speed. If you run one side with full speed, while the other is standing still, you will get problems with the bearing pins of the small planetary gears. Those typically have no roller bearings, because they are not meant to spin this much at all. Maybe you could try and add some roller bearings to improve the durability :)

Will just blow the acrylic window out, weakest point. Really needs a top cover that is not going to flex, if you want to put a lot of power through it. but with the engine they have not going to foam much or flex much, the steel case is small enough not to flex, until they brake one side hard under load. Better lubricant would be ATF, common Dexron 1 or 2 or equivalent, as it will run cooler, and lubricate better at high RPM. The gear oil will not provide a good boundary layer in the chain while the ATF will with the EP agents in it will.

Awesome build...gave me the shivers when you grabbed that swarf @9:16 mark. Did the same thing many years ago, wearing leather gloves and all with the machine off, and a strand had stuck itself to the tool tip. It didn't even blink at the glove, and gave me a permanent reminder to never do that again. 9 stitches through the inside crease of the 2nd joint of all 4 fingers. Nicked the tendons on 2 of them. Just saying...be careful.
