I really do, however I don't think exposure is going to help in the case of the other 2/3 American voters either. 1/3 is already completely on board with you and the other resents it when you deny them their ability to check out. That third that needs convincing is also EXTREAMLY susceptible to the "both sides are bad" bias. The more you put this stuff in the middle thrids' faces, the more you will get them to dig in their heels to oppose you. It's irrational and stupid but that's where this country is right now. I don't know how to reach these people in a way to get them to engage but I know from personal experience that what you're proposing won't work. Honestly, I don't see how American democracy survives and it scares me.

Conservative playbook 101 Rule 1. Undermine and underfund government - or any organisation they hate, usually ones that support people (at the least the ones that aren't rich) Rule 2. Point to said government - "see it's not working, we need to sell it off, privatise it etc" Rule 3. Rinse and repeat until there is no society left. Unless you're already rich.

This is part of it. It’s not intended to be, but it’s part of it. He has such a strong backing, that this will be easy to overthrow the government. We may go to war with each other, but United we stand and divided we fall. We are so divided there is no going back. The only way to truly save the country is through war with itself and for a side to conquer, and the left/ liberal side is honestly weak and too passive to organize and fight well. No, it's the opposite. Currently, much power resides in the hands of unelected bureaucrats, eroding the value of elections. The point of this project is to fix that: to put executive power back to the hands of the President. It doesn't do anything to the judicial or legislative branches, meaning that the separation of powers is preserved. It only removes power from the 4th, unnecessary 'branch', resulting in more direct representation for the electorate.

The only restriction is certain appointments that the Senate must confirm. He and the VP are the ONLY elected officials in that branch. You think the framers wanted their power checked by the people he selects to serve him??? If so they never indicated it. The check on any of the three branches are the other two, not unelected bureaucrats within the same branch. Anyone who thinks this would be dictatorship has a deeply flawed understanding of our government as designed by the framers. FFS Congress would still have all existing power over legislation and spending and the courts over interpretation of law. How the fuck is that a dictatorship???

By “unelected bureaucrats” I assume you are referring to the presidents cabinet, he of which appoints and then approved by the Senate. The constitution establishes a cabinet in Article II, “he may require the Opinion, in writing, of the principal Officer in each of the executive Departments, upon any Subject relating to the Duties of their respective Offices.” The founders as a rule, sought to constrain presidential power as much as they could, especially when you consider the fact that they had a revolution against monarchical power. To put it simply, they really didn’t want the president to have the power the British monarch had. What Project 2025 seeks to do is expand the powers of the executive branch, so that the president has complete control over it. They want to fire federal employees who disagree ideologically and instead hire loyalists and like minded individuals with the same views as the president, to push his agenda. I must add, these employees typically transcend administration to administration and cannot be fired simply for political views. They also believe that the Senate shouldn’t be able to limit the presidents control of the executive branch. This goes against checks and balances. By definition, “a dictatorship is a form of government characterized by the rule of one person or a small group of people who have no checks and balances on their power.” This is not what the founders envisioned for this country.

You could also launch campaigns against the funders and advertisers who back your state's various candidates (Cf Color Of Change). If you are just waiting around to cast your ballot every couple of years - in such a state where it is likely to make little difference - then, surely, if you actually care, it is incumbent upon you to find other ways in which you can make a real and meaningful difference, no? Your CONSCIOUS *actions* are a very potent vote in the real world that, _with suitable creativity behind them,_ could be cast as often as you like. It's almost exclusively about regulating the Administrative state, which is so poorly regulated that it simply does whatever it wants including bypassing Congress to create new law instead of doing what is Constitutionally correct, which is to carry out the policies of the current President and his administration. When we have a government that is efficient and runs within a balanced budget, it will benefit everyone in the country. A large reason why gridlock occurs is that the government is always fighting itself from within. A unified team is always a productive team.

@@DetectiveDonut I wish that were true, I really do. When Trump was elected I woke up shaken to my core, but calmed myself by thinking "maybe he won't be as bad as everyone thinks." Well, that thought didn't last long. Once the Mercer family got control of him, and gave Trump rules on who to put into his Cabinet I knew we were screwed. Every person in the White House under Trump was more swampy than the swamp he claimed he wanted to clear up. Then, as more and more of them realized that Trump was dangerous they quit, or were fired, and then would publish a book, or a newspaper article trying to explain to Americans who actually was in the White House - a fascist who didn't know what he was doing. It got scary pretty darn fast. By time 2020 rolled around the nation was in collective shock and Biden won. We cannot in any way allow another four years of an easily manipulated fascist in the White House again. Trump belongs in jail for decades of criminal activity. The scary thing is that once he is off the scene there will come other younger more intelligent and crafty fascists who support Project 2025 ideals. We need to fight this tooth and nail or we won't have an America left.
