Sweet ride my friend, I had a 57 two door ranch wagon back in 1970. I put a 390 and a 4 spd out of a 64 galaxy into it, and man what a shit load of fun I had with that car. I wish I had it now. If only we knew then what these cars would be worth now.

Beautiful... just found one all complete and no rust at all. Just wondering for your advice about it as to what to do with it: sell or keep, thank you so much!
@robhaerr Жыл бұрын
Thanks. Only you can answer that question. I have have mine for about 16 years, no plans to sell yet. You don't see these too much, so it's fun to have people ask questions. Many have no idea what it is.

@@robhaerr Thanks. How was your restoration process? too much trouble. Too expensive. Maybe somethings you should have done differently? Thank you...

nice ride. we have a 57 4 door sedan with a 292 y block. I bought a adapter kit and placed a AOD behind the motor. we upgraded the brakes to disk with a power brake booster. I'm now thinking about pulling the motor out as it has been giving me little troubles here and there. Thinking of going to a 302. My question is did you have to change the motor mounts or cross member or did it just bolt right up to the existing set up. Thanks
@robhaerr9 жыл бұрын
natureboy28546 Thanks. I believe you can bolt up to existing mounts and crossmember using Mustang motor mounts, but I had to have mounts fabricated. My car had a Chevy 350 in it when I bought it. See this video for how Walden's Speed Shop did the mounts... kzbin.info/www/bejne/r5i5cnahjKZkpdE

Beautiful but it sounds like a Mustang :). I’m used to the sound of a Y-block. I’ll bet it runs out great though.

When I bought the car 12 years ago, it had a Chevy 350 in it. Had to get that out!
@wblynch6 жыл бұрын
Oh, absolutely. Nothing wrong with a 302 at all, just noticing how different it sounds.

Yep, I grew up with a y-block in a 56 T-bird...the overheating and everything!

Fantastic but ? Why no safety with headrest and seat belts ?🥵🥶 It´s real Safe and very Cheap ,,, a small round rubber is welcome, between metal parts on each door, like modern cars , Best regards
@robhaerr2 жыл бұрын
Fran, I do have seat belts. The correct weatherstripping around the door is hard to find. Maybe someday. I don't drive it in the rain. Thanks.

Nice ride. Trouble with you " resto - mod " guys is that you keep 'em mostly in the garage & never do a green light race on the street.
@robhaerr8 жыл бұрын
Thanks, I think? I have no trouble with that....but this IS a cruiser station wagon. I haven't built it to be a race car. It'll get on some groceries with this li'l small block....for a 4000lb wagon with a small block.
@tonystone89028 жыл бұрын
You made it sound muscle. I'm sure that wagon can light 'em up. I drive a '67 Cougar XR-7 GT w/ the S code BB 390; 428 CJ heads, cam & rods. C6 w/ 3000- stall & Stage III kit. At 64 years old, I still like to just put in in Drive & let the kit handle the rest. Holley 4150 dual feed @ 810 cfm, Accell Comp coil, flattops. 10.5 comp. I'd be lighting up a few Chevvies if I owned that trailer queen. LOL. Nice wagon anyhow. Drive it.
@robhaerr8 жыл бұрын
I drive it all the time, no trailer queen...no perfection on this wagon, but thanks for the compliment. You'd be surprised at how little $$ I have in it. Would love to see your Cougar, sounds like a great car! You may have more $$$ in your motor than I have in my whole car! You can see much about the wagon in this series, amateur stuff... kzbin.info/aero/PLWq06-maBfWW4aNFqeF4dcm_3dh1AUHcg
