These are excellent seats, I had them in my S15 and really loved them. Comfortable yet still extremely supportive!

Good to know they fit, my seat has a lot of wear on the driver side.

My stock seat had the same.

Hey, I was wondering if you had any issues with the passenger side seat install. I will be installing some bottom mounted recaro seats as well and read that in some years of the s2000, the passenger seat has weight sensors and has a "bump" on the carpet to clear over the seat brackets.
@TheSlipAngle2 жыл бұрын
It's a very snug fit but it will get in there.

@@TheSlipAngle Okay thank you! Excited to get my recaros in. I will be using bride type ro rails

Thanks for posting this. Wondered myself if these were any lower. I have a pair of Speeds laying around along with a Planted seat base with Recaro sliders. Was going to install but held off because of the pain of working on seats and possibly scratching the interior plastics. They will definitely sit lower on my car as the later model AP2s sit a lot higher than an AP1.

Haha I put a Recaro Profi SPG in my '90 miata and it was an episode lmao. Had to hammer the transmission tunnel and cut some out of the door card. Complete hassle to fit buckets in a small car. And that is bolted to the floor with no adjustment lol.

My question might be already covered but I was wondering why did you keep AP1 over AP2? Is AP1 better than AP2? I'm thinking about getting one but I'm not sure which to go with. Thanks in advance.

So I'm 6'1 200lbs I have stock seats in my s2k and I feel like Im good leg and height wise, but I feel like arm wise Im uncomfortably close...

Do u know of any set ups that are best for people who are over 6ft tall?

Hey Felix, I don't think these seats would give you a significant difference, but I have something I am working on and will keep you posted once I am finished.

Garage Quinn Motors Awesome, Ill keep a look out for it. Im not in the modding stage yet, but Im looking at optionsin different areas to have a good idea of what I want before I start changing things. I got my MY06 with 25k miles so Im just wanting to enjoy it for a little while before I start doing things to it. Thanks for the reply, I'll stay tuned.

What are your thoughts on fitting them (recaro speed) in an NB miata? Do you think the Bride Euros are similar?
@TheSlipAngle3 жыл бұрын
I don't think they will fit.
@rolandotillit28672 жыл бұрын
For anyone watching, if you want the seat to fit, the widest point at the shoulders have to measure 570mm or less. If it's wider than that, you won't be able to open the center console and the seat won't clear the door.

Could we get an update or brief opinions on the Tein Monosports on the AP1 as there are absolutely no reviews or info by S2K owners. Many thanks.
@TheSlipAngle8 жыл бұрын
I think the Monosports have a little better valving over the old twin tube regular Tein Flex, which I have on my two Miata's and black FD. The control works well over bumpier roads and still offers some compliance, but like most coilover setups at this price point they all work the best on smoother pavement. If you wanted an entry level coilover for regular open track day use, I would say these are a great for the price point. If you are looking for a full coilover system for the street with some track use, I would say the Street Flex are fine. That is what is on this AP2. The differences aren't huge between the two, I think the Monosports rank a step below Ohlins DHVs in terms of S2000 offerings.

What did you do with the airbag light? I know the seat have sensors.. ignore them for now? I want to get aftermarket seats but the light on dash would bug me so much.
@TheSlipAngle8 жыл бұрын
The 00-05 S2000's actually don't have an SRS sensor for the seats. If you have an 06+ and want to change out the seats, I think you can satisfy the SRS system with the appropriate resistor for the circuit though. I am pretty sure there is a thread on S2ki that talks about how to do this.

It might be a lot to ask but can you post the part # for this project. I cant find the seat belt bracket lol and im incline on installing the same recaros on my 2006. By the way big fan on how you explain every detail on your videos!!!!

What did you end up thinking of those Ebay seat brackets? Im considering getting similar ones for my Miata, but its so hard to judge build quality in a photo.
@TheSlipAngle6 жыл бұрын
They were okay giving the price. The passenger side was a really tight fit. However they did get the job done.

One more win is the snug seats prevent from objects falling between the seat and center console.

but when they do manage to fall down there....:P
@Balo6577 жыл бұрын
Are they more comfortable than the stock seats?
@TheSlipAngle7 жыл бұрын
Yes and no. The beefier side bolstering and lumbar supports work out well for spirited driving so you are not fatigued as much holding yourself in place. The head rest portion of these seats are hard, so for longer drives where you just want to rest your head back you won't be as comfortable. Also, depending on how big you are, the more aggressive bolstering my gouge you more. I am 5' 11" and 185 lbs and I am about right there to where I fit in the valley of the seat.

So it's impossible to fit seats in this car with no rails?
@TheSlipAngle6 жыл бұрын
These seats are too wide to fit without the height that is provided from rails, I am sure there are narrower options that would work.
@lancercool19926 жыл бұрын
By impossible I thought, you need to slide the seats forward to reach to the rear bolts on the bracket, so rails will be necessary. After seeing this video I've read people do fixed mounts on this car so apparently it's doable. I'm still not sure how would a person reach back there with a fixed back seat, there doesn't seem to be much space. Thank you for the reply.

For all that, the stock seats are fine, plus they just don't look right with the factory roll bar, wrong shape
@Fizz8266 жыл бұрын
Wow what a pain with those mounting brackets and slider rails. It would have been a lot easier if you have gotten them from Wedge Engineering. No cutting, spray painting and drilling. Also when it comes to SRD/SR3/SR4 kind of seats, you have to get the model with one adjustment knob.
@TheSlipAngle6 жыл бұрын
The problem with the Wedge brackets is that I heard cases where the seating postion was raised, so I didn't want to take the gamble.
