Project Bruised Civic Part 4: Getting the K24 swap to work with the 7th Gen Civic
By Brian Gillespie
Welcome to part 4 of Project bruised Civic. The engine is in, but that is only a small part of the swap. There's a whole host of things that need to be re-installed and/or modified to get the K24 swap to work in the ES/EM Civic chassis.
Here are the fuel line part numbers to build your own quick disconnect fuel line:
The fuel line is Dorman 800-074 5/16 In. Nylon Fuel Line
Although I use a straight and a right angle fuel fitting two right angle fitting like those in this 2 pack would work even better.
Dorman 800-081 Fuel Line Quick Connector That Adapts 5/16 in. Steel to 5/16 in. Nylon Tubing
You can purchase these parts through VTEC Academy's Amazon Affiliate page here.

As far as I am aware, the 7th Gen Civic Hybrid (GX model I believe,) Rad and Condenser will both work for any K24 or K20 swap. The rad hoses and AC condenser lines that come with the K24 or K20 motors are all in the right places for the coolant ports and AC ports! However you would need to use an aftermarket fan. Shoutout to "Texas Honda Channel" for that info!

You won’t be disappointed. The k24a are very strong engines in the older civic chassis.

First off, I love these guide videos, I've been watching them over and over while I work on my own 7th gen K swap. Really good stuff! Second, I just tried making the fuel line with the parts in the description. The fittings fit perfectly on the rail but are too big for the line on the firewall, it's a very loose fit. Is that really the fitting you used for the firewall side? I can't see how that wouldn't leak like crazy. I also tried taking the smaller stock fitting and using it on the Dorman line, but I couldn't get the line on it past the little O-ring. Can't seem to find a Dorman version of this smaller fitting either.

Awesome vídeo Brian. Question: What car/truck did that transmission brace come from? CRV?

hi , im planning to do a tsx swap in a 01 civic Lx coupe, but im struggling with the decision of what transmission i can use, some people tell me that it inly works with tsx, rsx and Civic Si, the accord 5 sped will work too? where im living the firsts one are found too spensive for my budget like 1000$ for each one and just the tranny

The transmission determines the mount kit you use. The common one to use is the RSX or 02-11 Civic Si. The RSX and 02-05 Si transmission allows you to use the 01-05 non-Si Civic shifter with RSX cables.

Is there a shop in California that would do a complete swap? Smog legal?
@VTECAcademy

It wold be easy to make this swap smog legal using the RSX engine from the same year or newer car. As far as who could do it, I'll have to ask around.
