Yes, there will be mostly real tracks. VIR is not planned as far as I know. These tracks are already in from the top of my head: Laguna Seca, Imola, Spa, Old Spa, Silverstone, Infineon Raceway, Monaco, Nürburgring Racetrack + Nordschleife, Motorsport Arena Oschersleben, Dubai Autodrome, Le Mans, Suzuka, a whole bunch of Nascar ovals and kart tracks, Road America, Bathurst, Monza...

I signed up for project cars a few months after they started. I have high hopes for it too but I also don't enjoy something about the sound. The best I can describe it at the moment is that it's obnoxiously loud. Like it's just loud for the sake of being loud. I enjoy the sounds in Forza, GT, GRID, Dirt2, Dirt3, Grid 2, F1 2012 etc. I'm no gear head, so I have no idea what these cars sound like in real life, but I can listen to these games a full volume with no problem. PCars I have to turn low

Yes it is. That's the quieter version, Since the first one they built broke all of the sound rules. It wasn't track legal. So they had to make it quieter for tracks.

The Zonda R is the one which is Black and Gold (the one in this video) and the Cinque is white with a black part down the middle and a red stripe going down that black part. Hard to describe much. Yeah I get your confusion because they have released like 10 models after the R which are basically the same but road versions :P

Ah.. I remember a topgear episode where they showed the normal Zonda R And it was to loud, Then he had another which was quiet. It's probably the Cinque then, Does it look the same? If so you can understand my confusion.

Because, thing is, the noise from the engine, even though very loud, as it is a water cooled engine with forced feed lubrication, those two liquids absorb a big deal of noise. Then, the exhaust pipes, even if lacking mufflers, guide the noise away from the cockpit.

No actually. The Zonda R (the one he is driving) was the one that was quote un quote, too loud for standard race track noise limits. The Cinque was the quieter road version.

it would probably be pretty hard to sync the animation with the gear change since the user would have to wait until the animation is over until the gear shifts, i'd say, just remove the hands entirely, but then it might put some people off.

Engine sounds are decent but the Doppler effect is all off and is particularly evident when the Pagani approaches the viewer and the pitch levels out at 5:00 before decreasing again after passing the viewer. The best way I can describe how it should sound like is that the pitch of the engine "switches" (like that of an old toggle switch) from the exponentially increasing pitch as it approaches the viewer, to a pitch that is lower than that of the car if you were right next to it at top speed.

The Z4 GT3 sounds surprisingly American, but I don't know what the real one sounds like. The Zakspeed Capri sounds like what I'd expect, as does the Zonda R. :)

My immediate complaint is that the transmission is not loud enough. In racing cars, they usually sing and dominate the sound in the cockpit, except for cars with open cockpits.

Because the computer gamer doesn't actually drive the vehicle doesn't feel the g forces it makes little sense to muffle the sounds as it would be if you had a helmet on. We have to take out cues from the engine sound and visuals that is all we really have.
