🔥 There’s one skill that separates great IT Project Managers from everyone else-project tailoring. Most project managers get stuck trying to learn every new tool and process out there. They dive deep into theories but still struggle to deliver projects on time and within budget. It’s frustrating. The truth is, great project managers don’t try to do it all-they focus on tailoring simple processes and tools that work best for their team and projects. That’s what creates transparency, predictability, and results. But here’s the thing-tailoring isn’t just guessing what might work. It’s about knowing three critical components: 1) Understanding project management on a deeper level. 2) Knowing exactly what to tailor. 3) Applying it effectively in real companies with real people. That’s why I created the Professional Development Plan for IT Project Managers-to help you master project tailoring and finally become the project manager who delivers every time, no matter the challenge. ✅ Click the link below to get your development plan now and take the next step toward mastering project management. itpmschool.com/get-plan?

Your video is a practical analysis of a theoretical guidline of a 600+ page manual. Thank you for simplifying for us rookies.

Hey, thank you, really enjoyed the video!😀 however, I would separate the scope of work from the project charter as at the moment we create a charter we may not know all the scope yet. But, I totally agree that we need to include the business case and the final product overview in it to make the document sufficient
@ITProjectManagers4 жыл бұрын
For sure we can’t include full scope of work into the Project Charter. As all other pieces of information there, it’s on a high level. You’ll usually mention major deliverables. For example, clients expect to get UI Designs, the iOS App itself, and a PDF manual. It will ensure that no one forgets that creating the PDF is also a part of the project. Later, you’ll identify the full scope of work required to create these 3 main deliverables.

I see charter as a contract between sponsor and project leader. It is great communication tool between them to understand project direction, deliverables opportunities, goal, scope, and timeline. If agreed, charter can be introduced to the team. Would you agree with this approach?
@ITProjectManagers3 жыл бұрын
Contract is a strong word. I prefer an "agreement". And if you mean sponsor as the owner of the project then - yes. Mostly, you want to discuss the Project Charter with someone who has a vision of the final product or service. The contents of the project charter can be different. But the main points are always the goal, main deliverables, and boundaries of the project. So, yes, in general, I do agree.
