No problem: in the event of an Omega-K class "End of Death" scenario, just use SCP-2935. According to Site 100, absolute death and absolute life just cancel each other out.

I'm still convinced SCP-2718 came about due to how they brought O5-11 back rather than something Overwatch actually needs to worry about. To put it as simply as I can, they revived O5-11 through among other things quantum physics. They rebuilt build him by somehow pulling every atom that made up his person back to how they were arranged prior to his death. As a side effect of resurrecting him this why his atoms brought back the information of what they had done since he lost consciousness. Or a punishment for cheating death.

I remember that in one of the scp videos on death(or possibly in their comments), that the actual afterlife in the SCP universe was whatever you thought it was. Someone who believed in heaven would find themselves there, someone who believed in reincarnation would be reincarnated and someone who thought that there was no afterlife would cease to exist. So, a person who believed their consciousness would remain after death would experience just that until they were brought back to life by the O5 council.

If I remember right, one of the theorys of SCP-5000 is that the entity inside of the human consciousness is what causes Scp-2718. According to 5000, humans can't naturally experience pain, so the eternal torture must be coming from 'IT'. The author of 5000 did confirm that Pietro going back in time and stopping the foundation from discovering 'IT' was the Bad ending.

I still believe that O5-11's experience in SCP-2718 is a result of the resurrection process, and not a natural part of every death. The resurrection process revitalized his consciousness and undid the damage to his body, which he experienced in reverse.

I thought about it too. Because consciousness is the electric signals in brain, when brain dies, consciousness fades away too. So what if 11's consciousness in the process of being revived and placed in a new body merely experienced his old body's decay for what might've been like several days at most for us, but due to some kind of temporal paradox it was like an eternity to him. After all, he was truly unconscious for some time before he became aware. Although in order to feel that his nerves had to be alive. Or maybe the anomalous essence of this SCP is that metaphysical feeling of pain, the revival process itself is painful. That probably means this between life and death state is potentially painful too. Or it could just all be a hallucination/vision that he experienced it all. 2718's story has a lot of logical inconsistencies, loopholes etc. but it also has a lot of potential for theorising. I just had an idea. Instead of containing death why not just try to revive everyone as soon as possible, before decay kicks in. This kind of solves the problem and Foundation has the means... Project Dammerung could also be used to research this state more. There's a lot of potential for narrational development for this SCP

Okay, so it took awhile, but I think I've figured out all the abstract shit that happens in SCP-3448's log. The little girl is the Grim Reaper. The flowers represent all living beings. The insects are the forces of entropy. The stuffed crow is death itself. The teddy bear is life itself. I think that, in this depiction, 'Grim Reaper' isn't the best moniker for the girl, because she doesn't appear to be actual cause of death - just a conduit that allows it to happen, or some sort of servant. She acts at the behest of either 1 dichotomous godlike being, or 2 godlike beings of roughly equivalent power, with the teddy bear being the stronger of the two. Whatever this greater power is, the 'death' half of it manifests in the crow, which seems to be what specifically causes death (and potentially SCP-2718 as well), and the little girl's job is to keep it in check and make sure that it doesn't outpace life too much. And for a long time, that setup worked. Then the Foundation came along and fucked everything up. After Agent Michaels became SCP-3448, things went normally at first: the insects attacked him to either fully sever the connection to his body or to destroy/otherwise 'prepare' his soul, for whatever comes next in the afterlife. But with SCP-3448 running, all their damage was quickly undone - presumably because, no matter how badly his soul got shredded, his brain was still running, allowing him to maintain either his self-perception or keeping his soul tethered to the living world. So, like a body trying to treat a disease that shouldn't be there, the realm of death started sending the bugs after Michaels more frequently, and the more he evaded or otherwise survived them, the more of the bugs would attack next time. That's why the little girl seems to be unable to control the crow after awhile: It's acting autonomously, and its 'immune responses' eventually seem to outpace her ability to suppress them. So, she begs her boss (the teddy bear) for help. The teddy bear appears to either refuse or be unable to. Michaels has to die. Sending Michaels the lighter is when everything went to Hell. If Michaels was a simple cold virus that refused to die, the lighter was weaponized HIV. It didn't simply resist the bugs - it destroyed them. Whether this had some sort of measurable outcome to the amount of deaths overall or it reduced universal entropy or whatever is unclear. What IS clear, though, is that killing the death bugs pissed off the little girl enough to make her desperately attack Michaels. Her ass is on the line now. Boss teddy bear is pissed and steps in when it becomes clear that she's unable (or unwilling) to act further. The teddy bears everywhere indicate that her boss is fully focused on this shitshow now. They all have lighters because there's a 'dead' lighter present. Bear is life, bear creates life, bear decides to clone himself a weapon and is ready to use it. The little girl has 2 choices now: 1. Try to kill Michaels and fix everything. 2. Teddy bear will burn *everything.* All life everywhere stops. SCP-2935 happens. The girl goes for the first option and gets shot in the brain. She dies instantly, severing the teddy bear's Internet connection before it can react (if it can react at all). With the personification of death gone, the concept vanishes as well. All the death bugs drop dead, the teddy bear's locked out of the system (unless he can eventually hire a new Grim Reaper), and life is free to live. And propagate. And live. And spread. And consume. And live. And never, ever die. And that's how the Foundation ruined everything *this* week.

Seeing as though 2718 is the "true" afterlife (if not then knowing about it makes your original afterlife overwritten), then it makes me wonder if sacrificing yourself for your country or committing an act of suicidal terrorism is "worth it" Hell, I bet if every murderer, war veteran, terrorist, or a person who committed manslaughter were to ever find out the "true" afterlife, I bet they'd live a life of utter guilt and emotional/psychological torment knowing what they've subjected the people they killed to, and cannot end themselves due to fear of facing the same fate.. Imagine the kind of torment SCP individuals who died to SCP's like 682 or 008 or any other brutal SCP are fairing, it's brutal....

Well, the SCP Foundation has no main headcanon, so, 2718, 3448 and end of death set it as a cognitohazard, that affects who knows about it, Roger tought it was just the human condition, but maybe in 2718 headcanon it's just a cognitohazard or as it said by many people, a retroactive bunch of memories caused by being rebuilt atom by atom, on 3675, it happens to all human beings, and in the scp wich was a phone cabine where you choose your afterlife, the old woman says that is you don't believe in nothing, you will be just floating in the nowhere, wich is a insanely eternity of being lonely, but not painful in the way 2718 is, until you get caught by the scarlet king, and 2718 is the other posibility. So it depends of the headcanon of the scp, story. There's a lot of places to go after death in scp universe.

I can say with certainty that there is definitely SOMETHING after we die (more than nothingness, that’s for sure). Not only did I see some bizarre stuff when I was lingering between life & death whilst in a coma that lasted 5 weeks, but I also experience a lot of paranormal activity in my home; which my mum & even my little chihuahua sometimes experience too. My mum will sometimes hear someone speaking & assume it’s me calling, but it never is. Then other times my bedroom door will creak open by itself & my little chi will start staring hard at a certain spot, like she’s seeing someone there (& if I ask “who is it” she’ll whimper with her eyes bugging out of her head). I’ll even get one of my battery-powered lights turn on & off at strange times, but especially long after the batteries should’ve run out; & I mean at least 6 months! I mostly feel like it’s my late baby rabbit visiting me from the other side, as my little chi sometimes stares at the place where I keep his remains in a little box & sometimes (out of nowhere it seems) I’ll notice the scent of my baby rabbits fur lingering in the air. You might be thinking “oh, that’s BS”, but I swear on my sweet bunny that these are my genuine experiences. 🥺💖🌈🐇

One thing I've always loved about Foundation Canon is that it's pretty fluid that even your own headcanon is valid. One moment, you read anything involving Project Dammerung, which implies the afterlife doesn't exist and your consciousness exists in your body after death, then you read SCP articles which implies that there are multiple afterlives/worlds after death. Funniest headcanon I can think of is something like SCP-2718 doesn't affect all of humanity and there are people in different afterlives laughing at the unfortunate ones stuck in their own rotting bodies.

The fact that SCP-2935 exists makes SCP-2718 even more terrifying to comprehend. Every person just in their own corpses not being able to say anything. Day 190 of asking the O5 to use SCP-1968 to create a universe in which 682 doesn't exist.

@@redjirachi1 for that to happen you would need someone to venture into 2935, then back into the living dimension, which would then cause all life to cease. This isnt a good solution as there may be people who do not wish to die yet, since it affects all life, down to even bacteria. Venturing into 2935 wont work either since youll still be alive. Now if there was more research done to see if they can make the effects of 2935 occur for only individuals, it may be viable, but theres the risk of just wiping out all life due to it, plus, we dont know if it would even work, for all we know it may cause something more horrific, such as causing cessation of nearly all bodily functions, but youll still effectively be aware, forever unable to move, or even unable to decay, stuck in one spot for eternity.
