I think a record sound was added to make it seem like the video sound was recorded onto a record. If I’m right, it’s pretty creative and I wonder who else would notice.

Thank you! It’s true our video editor wanted to be creative and some surface noise. Sometimes I let him have his way 😉

Lol. I figured that’s what it was with the intro, but then it continued through the whole video so I wondered.

I would’ve preferred the video editor to use an anti static brush on your audio.. 😅 Was challenging to listen to the review to my ears.. 🤷♂️

Yeah. Should be only in the intro.

Great video. I'm just starting my journey into vinyl, as I've just been gifted a Pro-ject Debut Pro 😁. However, I now need some advice on an amplifier and speakers to complement it. Can you please give me some suggestions. My budget for both, unfortunately, is only £700 UK.

Thanks that was enjoyable review question isn't it just called the debut pro?

Wow. You guys really know what you are talking about when it comes to turntables. Well done!!

Great review gentleman! My question is I was targeting the fluance RT 85 or 85N because of value for $500. That said should I be considering the pro at twice the cost as it 1k. Thanks
@Hifyed2 жыл бұрын
Thank you! It’s not a bad idea to upgrade to the pro as source is always important. With that being said you want to match or exceed your existing components quality wise.

When you compared the sound of the project to technics, you must’ve used the same or a Sumiko cart on both? But I doubt that, since it wasn’t mentioned. That’s what Audio Advice did when comparing the sound of Project Debut Carbon to the PRO. Please be specific in the future when making sound comparisons to different turntables. Thx! 😉

I have a 4 year old Debut Carbon, the one with the 2M Red and non adjustable feet, but DC motor. I bought the $30 upgraded power supply, no change to my ears; the acrylic platter, no change to my ears; the 2M Bronze, large change in clarity; the aluminum sub platter, combined with the better cartridge there was a huge change in clarity, base tightness, overall dynamics and sound quality. Put the money into the cartridge and the platter first. My investment is over $999 but I have a better cartridge and sub platter than the Pro. I'm not sure why the DC Pro when there is the X1?
@Hifyed2 жыл бұрын
thank you for your insight! I had the same setup as you before. I upgraded the platter and even tried a 2m black that I got used. The pro is supposed to have an improved tonearm. It would be interesting to compare the pro vs the DC with the same cart. The regular MSRP on the pro and x1 is now about a 30% difference. Maybe they wanted something in between. I wonder if they might take some elements from the pro tonearm in incorporate them into future models.

@@Hifyed Thanks for the response. In the US the Pro is $999 and X1 $1099. They have different factory cartridges and similar tone arms if not the same. The plinth and platter are better on the X1 I would say? I had a X1 on order and then my dealer lost their Pro-Ject distributor so I went the upgrade path. It was easier to hide the changes from my wife :-) than buying a different turn table and less costly in the end. Would I have rather had the X1, sure. Am I happy with the upgrade, very much.
@Hifyed2 жыл бұрын
@@richardpeters2193 A $100 difference would not make sense might as well go with the x1. Here in Canada, the difference is greater $1100 vs $1400. You are correct I also think the Plinth and sub-platter are better on the X1. That's funny about the wife and reminds me of my friend. He could not stop upgrading and bought units that looked the same. She caught on and started taking pictures 😂.
@richardpeters21932 жыл бұрын
@@Hifyed I ordered the X1 with the 2M Bronze because it looked like the 2M Red. Didn't get the turn table but got the cartridge. Explaining the platter was easy on the X1. Just show her the Acrylit Platter option and stick with gloss black. Therefore, there was no way I could go X2 the plinth was too beefy she would know right away. I know the "buy things that look the same" game very well.

This has adjustable VTA, the p3 does not. Much easier to run different carts with this. Also, I love the technics, but this is a better looking table IMHO.
