I own this controller actually and I absolutely love it. Though I've noticed that the touch bar scratches VERY easily, granted it's only cosmetic damage but don't count on the controller looking pretty for too long unless you store it immaculately. Also listening through a video REALLY doesn't do those buttons the service of just how ear piercing they are. If you buy this controller your entire house will hear it and if you live in an apartment with thin walls your neighbors will too 100%. Still, I love how responsive the controller is, I occasionally play PD at my local Round1 and the responsiveness is truly a night and day difference.

I mainly play diva so I was excited to see a new tokaku video about it! but yeah it's just as fun to play on a ps4 controller as in the arcade that's one of the reasons why I like it
@realmuchdoge2 жыл бұрын
I've bought the controller after hisokee's video on it, it's a really good controller. I also own a real PDAFT cabinet and they come very close to the real deal button wise but I prefer the buttons on the Diva Pro as they are not as stiff as on the arcade which makes it easier to play fast. Also the slider feels a lot nicer than on the arcade if you are playing without gloves, on the cabinet it's tad more grippy because of the glossy finish. The only gripe I had so far with the Diva Pro was the registration of the touch slider inputs for double notes, as it sometimes doesn't register inputs well if you have double sliders going the same direction or very few times if they are going the opposite direction. This might be a firmware issue though and I have not yet updated mine, so original firmware is still on there I suppose. I will follow up with a comparison to the Mega Mix Controller once it hopefully arrives today (should have been here 3 days ago, but FedEx sucks) seeing as those are modeled after the original cabinet controller. Also if anyone wants to start playing on PC and doesn't want to use a gamepad, get a used F, F2nd or X mini controller from japan, you'll most likely get them for 60-80$ incl. the currently expensive shipping (depending on where you live, germany is hella expensive to ship to from japan because only air transit is available) and they are amazing to play on, especially fast songs.
@ZhouSensor_ZXZ2 жыл бұрын
HI, here is zhousensor There is a protection algorithm for input in the same direction, and the distance between two triggers must be more than 2 touch blocks to be correctly triggered. If this condition is met but does not respond normally, it may be a bug. Also please take a video and send it to the contact of yubiparts, or send it to me in the DC group. Thank you.
@realmuchdoge2 жыл бұрын
@@ZhouSensor_ZXZ Hi, thanks for the response! I tested everything again today and I might have misremembered the issue, I wasn't able to play double sliders at all. I took some time to check the mappings and noticed that the inputs for the potential second slider is mapped on the touch buttons R1+2 and L1+2. I don't know how I missed this in the manual but it works flawlessly now.
@realmuchdoge2 жыл бұрын
Update: I have finally received the Mega39s controller and it's great, but I still prefer the Diva Pro as the buttons are springier and therefore faster to play. Also seeing as I've fixed my previous problems with it, I don't think there is any reason to go with a PS4 or Switch if you can't buy them for less than the Diva Pro as the only thing better on the Hori ones is the Touch Slider but only by a little. So in conclusion, If you want a cheap controller that you can play extremely fast, get a Hori Mini Controller, if you want the closest possible experience to the arcade, get a PS4 or Switch Hori Controller and if you care about customizability (button sensitivity and pretty lights) and speed in a controller that keeps the arcade format with a relatively small footprint , get the Diva Pro. Also, this is all subjective, so take this with a grain of salt. And also, please never order through FedEx, that was a nightmare.

I have this controller actually in miku color, it works well but three things: - the level of finish of the controller is not good for 400 $ (paint chip/my bottom plate of the controller was not correctly leveled when manufacturing) - not firmware update for PPD, project heartbeat (slider hori mod is not a priority for yubiparts) - yubiparts announces restock for Rin/Len and luka colors and a few months later it's not.

I'm finally getting around to buying this arcade controller. I own PD on Nintendo Switch, PS5, and PC. So, I could definitely find myself using it a lot and finding it enjoyable since I can use it on many different platforms. I am going to buy the white version, I'll see how good it works once it arrives. It's a bit pricey, but worth it since my local arcade took the Project Diva arcade cabinet out of the arcade rooms. I don't mind if it's loud, as long as it works fine.
@JoeKoh272 жыл бұрын
For maimai, its usually the hinge of the button that breaks, causing the button to be stuck in and unable to pop back up by itself. The hinge will break with overtime use, and will break even faster if players are playing with excessive force. So when the "button" breaks the arcade operators just replace the button cap with a new one, along with the hinge as well (Thats based on my observation and understanding, if anyone actually services maimai cabs, feel free to correct me if im wrong) EDIT: The button hinge is (very hard) plastic so yes they break

the Arcade version of Project Diva Future Tone also uses optical switches, it looks like the usual omron switches but the activation method is optical. its part code is OBSA-LHSXF-LN. this is a very expensive switch, somewhere around 45 dollars per switch, but it has the advantage of being easily replaceable when the switch eventually do break. do they sell replacements for those proprietary switches? and is it easy to replace? also for the off-topic point on 9:20 yes, maimai uses optical sensor, underneath its buttons is a simple metal sheet that acts both as a spring and as a light blocker for the sensor. through around 6 years of me playing maimai, the sensor itself never break, but the plastic buttons will eventually crack and/or the metal sheet underneath the buttons will get stuck on the buttons. dance rush pads uses an array of laser sensors, and they're very sensitive. even the smallest of debris in the pad area will mess up the sensors. I haven't played much dance rush to know about the details though. anyway thanks for the review~!

Plus I really miss using the touch bar for navigation that you get with the official controller.

Good review. It was an underwhelming controller for me. I wish this controller supported arcade mode like DIVALLER. That would turn the slider into true analog input instead of sending L/R. It truly takes away from the experience, especially when you are browsing the tracks. They ask you to pay $460 (with shipping to US) to mimic the arcade experience with this thing so at that point why couldn't they add them? I also hated how I had to wait a second or two before the touch buttons activate again after you complete a song. They say this is for accidental touches during gameplay but accidental touch happened often for me anyway so it was just a nuisance. They should have just went away with a physical (or touch-sensitive) switch to lock and unlock on the side. Such a disappointing product, especially for $460 that I paid for.
@ZhouSensor_ZXZ2 жыл бұрын
Thank you very much for your purchase. At the beginning of the design, I considered using mechanical keys to implement function keys. However, due to the problem of mechanical key life, there is a high probability that there will be repairs due to damaged function keys, which will be very embarrassing, because these keys are not that important. That's why the way to use touch was chosen. The usage situation you encounter should be sitting and playing, and it should be placed on a table at the same height as your chest. I don't recommend playing this way because it's bad for the back muscles. If you are sitting and playing, it is recommended to put it on your lap. The most recommended method is to put it on a table with a height of about 80-90cm and play standing up. The above two recommended play methods will also avoid accidental touches of the function keys.
