When in my 20's, I made short sleeved, button down dressy-casual shirts for my husband, who loved them! As long as you use fabric and prints that men like really nice drapey Hawaiian fabric with wooden buttons and a breast pocket. One of the shirts I made for my husband was a white, woven, heavier cotton fabric shirt that he would wear in late spring/early summer cooler weather (in So. Cal.).

This is how I do bias tape. Sometimes I still get confused on how to sew the strips together. So I lay two end to end, right sides up, angles matching. Then I fold the strip on my right down to create that “corner” and have right sides together. I am sewing some peasant style dresses with raglan sleeves. It’s called the Anna dress and I think it’s a free online pattern, but I’ve had it for years, so I’m not sure.

Wait...but, if you are only making straps for the dress and adding the strips to curves to you really need to cut on the bias?
