not to give a literal answer to your hypothetical question, but it depends on the multiverse in this story. It could be an infinite multiverse, where each possibility is contained, or a finite multiverse where there are a lot of worlds, but not one for every small decision. Either way, it would still be within our “multiverse” because the multiverse is the set of alternate universes we can observe and interact with

Based on their own explanation this should be its own branch. Maybe there's only that one root decision that puts him on the path towards being a filmmaker, but from there he's still got to make a multitude of decisions every day, so yeah, you'd think there'd be other branches of this universe where he's a filmmaker but less of a bellend.
