I agree, its a disgrace that this series has just been abandoned as it was very popular. The detail that went in to each location was amazing and always has been in the series, right back to the first true PGR game, Metropolis Street Racer on the Sega Dreamcast. I remember being in awe looking at that back in the year 2000.

Yes, I really expected more from Sony and Microsoft with regards to backwards compatibility. Now we have to rely on emulation that at its best is awesome but for the majority of titles on these systems is not great.

@@djpquickplays1244 100%, but it's quite possible there's some licensing issues with that solution too. I mean I'm sure for MS it's not worth getting sued by EA for allowing players to able to launch their licensed games all of a sudden. We'll never know though.

@Viflo There would be no licensing issues as with a cd copy of the game, the license is tied to the cd and owned by the consumer, if this was the case they would stop people playing old xbox 360s as it would be illegal.

PGR4 has imporved quite a lot in Canary compared to last year releases.

Thanks. I tried this after seeing DoVe´s newest video about PGR4. Just some additional stuff: PGR4 doesnt like Controller emulators active when starting, its says " too many gamer profiles signed in" fault and you cant progress, my workaround is to start my Keyboard Splitter programm after Xenia loaded up to the PGR4 title screen. I run the highest resolution 1080p and use the Xenia patch for the game ( download speratly on Xenia page). Xenia doesnt play any in- race music, sadly nothing I could do about it. For me it was a bit dark and I went with SRGB in the Xenia config file in the " gamma" setting. Otherwise its fully playable.

How did you upscale it to 1080 ? AMD FX does not make much difference and if I set X and Y in the config from 1 to 2 the graphics glitch out. Thanks !

You can change HID to xinput and The controller Will work Just Fine

Almost yes. There are some very minor hiccups and certain tracks can drop to around 55fps for moments but I think you'll be at 60fps mosta the time and always above 30 which the game originally ran at.

I can't access the Single Player, it says I have too many gamer profiles signed in, and it tells me to sign out. How do I fix this on Emulator?

I haven't had this issue, look carefully at the main menu for the game and try all options. If that doesn't work find the location of the saved games and move it somewhere else while you play it

Can I ask which controller you are using? Sometimes changing to xinput if Xbox controller works,

@@djpquickplays1244 I use a wireless PS4 controller with DS4 windows, I also went through the game options but I had no luck.

@@avatar94100 Ok in the ds4windows settings make sure you're using xinput, there should also be an option to install hidhide. Once installed open hidhide and hide the sony controller by ticking the checkbox in the devices tab, leave hidhide open, just make sure to always unhide it before you disconnect it. Now run Xenia and set your controller to Xbox 360 controller and the type to xinput. Try that.

The 60fps patch is not working for me, I had everything correct and the latest in Canary, and the game still wont read the patch!

So, what are the chances in running this successfully on a Steam Deck? If you can, do i need to download windows to run it or is there Linux version of the emulator?

It'll run but it'll probably be slow, around 20-30 fps I'd guess. I'm not sure there's a linux version, check their github page

Yes, it should be able to reach 60fps most of the time I would think.

I installed this game through xenia emulator on PC. Does anyone know how to map or change the controls to play via keyboard? I just want to change the movement controls to be on the arrows (up, down, left right). If anyone knows, I would appreciate it.

Si capisce che è la versione Xenia dal fatto che Pgr 4 originale su Xbox 360 le auto non avevano le ombre dinamiche (ma solo blob😢), probabilmente gli sviluppatori di Xenia avranno notato questo "sacrificio" di Bizzarre (per fare girare bene il gioco sulla 360) e avranno implementato loro a parte delle ombre in post processing, addirittura su tutte le macchine in pista contemporaneamente. Sono cose che noto perché questa serie la conosco a memoria, i miei preferiti sono Pgr 2 in assoluto miglior racing di sempre e al secondo posto dietro Pgr2 metto subito Pgr 4 come miglior racing di sempre! E ti posso garantire che sta cosa delle ombre c'era in ogni Pgr, tranne nel 3. Il 3 è stato l'unico ad avere le ombre dinamiche su ogni vettura in tempo reale in pista. Nel primo erano solo sulla macchina del giocatore (anche durante i replay, passando alle altre auto non hai ombra dinamica). Nel 2 fu leggermente migliorato nel senso che anche qui come nel primo l'ombra dinamica era solo sulla macchina del giocatore, ma almeno nel 2 durante il replay se cambiavo auto appariva un'ombra dinamica per ogni auto selezionata (ma appunto sempre una alla volta 😢). Nel 3 tutte presenti. Il 3 era incredibile aveva effetti di luce assurdi forse un po' troppo esagerati e irreali però effettivamente era molto pieno di effetti speciali, il 4 fu più realistico ma meno pompato nell'illuminazione, tuttavia nel 4 c'erano il meteo per ogni pista, c'era un migliore anti aliasing e un migliore filtro anisotropo, le auto erano identiche a livello poligonale del 3, solo che nel 3 avevano più illuminazione sparata eccessivamente e appunto le ombre dinamiche delle auto sull'asfalto. Come ho detto li so a memoria 😂 Incredibilmente sul mio pc "non da gaming" girano meglio pgr 3 e pgr 4 su xenia che pgr 2 su xemu! Anzi pgr 2 va tipo a 5 fps, è assurdo😢, spero che possano migliorare questi emulatori perché è troppo bello poter giocare ai vecchi giochi a cui sono legato con grafica migliore e soprattutto col save state, al momento disponibile solo su Xemu. Ho ancora la 360 e ho anche Xbox Series X e ps3 ma mi piace divertirmi anche con gli emulatori. Sul mio pc portatile girano bene rpcsc3, pcsx2, epsxe e tanti altri...unici che girano male sono appunto Xemu e Xenia, e questo mi dispiace perché la Xbox è la mia console preferita 😢

Please make sure you are using the correct version of xenia because there are canary and main versions. Use what I did. Also, backup and delete any saved file you have for the game and delete the config for the emulator. It will create a new one when you load up the emulator. Now exit and do the configuration. If it loads, you can now put your saved game back.

No I don't, but I can do one. It doesn't really need any setting up unless the game in question needs specific settings. The resolution and vsync would be the main thing people change and that's covered in this video. If I find other games which need certain settings I will upload videos on them too.

I copied it over from my old XBOX 360 and the game I bought again about 9 years ago in a 2nd hand games shop. I think you will need an older model to be able to do this though. I think only certain models are able to be modified in order to do this. I have such a large collection of old games and consoles I never know what to play next lol
