Salam brothers, Jazak Allah khairan & thank you all for this beautiful intro - It has been few years now, and I really can’t wait for the documentary to be finally released! Suddenly, I understand the essence of the Grand Holy Mosque of Makkah Expansion Project; As an Arab descendant of Prophet Abraham (a.s.), I wish I could see our father Abraham (a.s.) face, and his reaction to find how big the First House of Allah (ﷻ) on Earth has become - When once he was all by himself, and only few of his family who were Muslim. However, he wasn’t alone, for Allah (ﷻ) was with him. Thus, when Allah (ﷻ) made His Promise to our father Abraham (a.s.), it became real! And as we can see now, if Allah (ﷻ) wills a thing, He can unite the hearts of many diverse Believers from all over the world to make it happen, at the present time, and keep building the Holy Mosque of Makkah around the Sacred House that Abraham (a.s.) once rebuilt; His promise is true! At the heart of Makkah, the Promise of Allah (ﷻ) to our father Abraham (a.s.) keeps beating, and flowing like the pristine, pure waters of Zamzam - Alhamdullilah! «الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ الَّذِي هَدَانَا لِهَذَا وَمَا كُنَّا لِنَهْتَدِيَ لَوْلا أَنْ هَدَانَا اللَّهُ» «Praise be to Allah for guiding us to this. We would have never been guided if Allah had not guided us.» Al-Quran [7:43]

Abu Sa’eed said: The roof of the mosque - i.e., the mosque of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) - was made of palm branches. ‘Umar ordered that the mosque be rebuilt and he said: Protect the people from rain, but beware of using red or yellow (for adornment) and distracting the people. Anas said: They build mosques about boast about that, but they do not use them for worship except rarely. Ibn ‘Abbaas said: You are going toadorn (mosques) as the Jews and Christians adorn (their places of worship). End quote. Abu Dawood (448) narrated that Ibn ‘Abbaas said: The Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “I have not been commanded to build lofty mosques.” Ibn ‘Abbaas said: You are going toadorn (mosques) as the Jews and Christians adorn (their places of worship). This hadeeth was classed as saheeh by al-Albaani in Saheeh Abi Dawood.

There is no such thing as Islamic art. You can say Muslim art if you want. Also nobody is expecting beautiful architectural design in a place like Makkah.
