I have just discovered the c50 and up series of trucks and i want to do this to one of them. Then i found you, and its nice to know that with a methodical and determined effort you have proven that am not crazy and it can be done. my family thought i was off a rocker. Like your format seems honest and no one is filming you so i think one guy doing all the production and work can be allowed to work how he is comfortable. Thanks for sharing. Its looking great.

You’re doin a pretty good job of the Timelapse balance. I’m about to start almost the same project. Using the wide bodies from the 910/4000 2/3Ton Then mounting the cab on a C5500 Kodiak Appreciate many of your ideas.

These are my favorite series of trucks so I'm really enjoying this build and your work is impressive. As a novice in all aspects I greatly appreciate any time you can show close ups and details of what you are doing. Plenty of channels show before and after. Thanks for taking the time to share with us. I truly feel you should have 25,000 subs by now on this build. Looking forward to the next one.

Love the concept. I want to do the same thing with a 60s Chevy pickup. The only thing I want to do differently is put a full Tundra powered rear window in
@chopshopart
@chopshopart Жыл бұрын
That was actually literally something I was thinking about however I didn't know how it would look in the rear if it would be shaped different but I'd say go for it that would be very cool
@johnquinn1732
@johnquinn1732 Жыл бұрын
Well what I was thinking of doing, is just getting a rear tundra cab panel with the glass intact (from a wreck tundra) blending it in and using it as the rear of the cab. Do a center cut out swap around the window like you did with the roof.

I wouldn't worry about your B pillars being weak in a rollover you have them welded solid like a beam. Very impressive work 👏. What kind of dog do you have. My work companion was a black cocker spaniel twice in my life among other dogs. A little more striping back finishes before welding will help you especially when dealing with new automobile stee.l Some new steel is not made like the old tin you're working with. I started a 49 chevy crew cab build sold it. Now I am thinking about crew cabbing my 61 c60. I like your build. Spent last night watching most your videos. Again nice work I am an old body man graduate of Auto Body tech school 1993.

It is looking pretty dang cool. My only concern is that B pillar having enough strength going across the roof. Big concern in a rollover. Cosmetically it is looking awesome.

Great job ! i I did several long bed to shortbed conversions . I know what a painstaking pain it is to sit there and tack and tack and tack to keep it from warping . One thing i missed when you shortened the door the inner door panel of course uses that indian arrow stamping how did you get that to blend on the rear doors ? I take it the sunroof was wide enough near the outside of cab to keep it rigid ? as those roofs do move alot . are you running some sort of cross bracing from sunroof to the edge to give it a little more beef ? cloth liner is an excellent idea . outside fire wall. is the booster still going to clear everything . i know the apache cabs are narrower . or are you using the hydro boost ? How does the steering column jive with the dash angle ?
@chopshopart
@chopshopart Жыл бұрын
Yeah I'm putting in Cross bracing in this roof, the firewall is 2003 so the hydro boost and everything will go back in the factory position planning on it

Very cool. I had the same idea on one of my projects where the roof was so warped from years in the sun.. tried to replace but couldn't find a good roof skin. Plan was first to fiberglass underneath the newer roof skin, but then decided to go with pano sunroof.. Project is gone now.. But wondering, what's the sunroof from?

depending on the part , I agree, panel bond from 3M is ridiculously strong and you have the added benefit of not heat input/warping of panels !

You seem to be good at making proper templates and properly fitting panels. If I wanted to have someone make me laugh, I'd be watching ComedyCentral. You should get 2 "jokes of the day" and somewhere in the video say them deadpan and without smiling or laughing. That 'Talking" you don't do much of is Content time. It adds minutes to your video's and allows you to split projects into more video's which equal more views... Same number of project video's but you spend more time to watch them. I love the time lapse, but They need to be of shorter duration with you slowing down and explaining what you are doing... this also adds to the length of the show.... Can u get an assistant that's really cute? not a dog... seriously you seem to be good at cutting and fitting and fabrication is the niche I watch...
