There are many factors to consider in selecting an organizational structure like
The degree of alignment with organizational objectives, Specialization/Delegation capabilities, Accountability/Responsibility assignment,
Escalation path, the scope of authority, and Physical locations.

--Weak Matrix : 8:22
--Balanced Matrix : 10:15
--Strong Matrix : 13:21
-Projectized : 15:18
-Composite : 17:11
Difference between a project expediter and a project coordinator. A project expeditor works as a staff assistant and cannot make any decision.
But a project coordinator have power to make decisions.
In a weak matrix organization the role of a project manager is more like an expediter or project coordinator. It maintains many characteristics of a functional organization.

Hi Sir, in the Strong Matrix you have mentioned that the Functional Heads just provide the Guidelines or the mechanism or the Best Practices to the projects so could you please clarify whether the PMs are directly reporting to the Functional Heads or to the CEO?? Thanks in advance.

In general in strong matrix organizations, Project Managers reports to the managers of Project Managers. It can be CEO.
