The simplicity is beautiful. I had a 66. These cars did handle very well

Another minimalist design that comes to mind that is similar is the 66/67 Chevy II Nova. I'm surprised to hear that they handle well

I had a '68 Barracuda convertible with the 225 and console automatic. I did a similar suspension upgrade, adding a complete setup from a wrecked '69 383 Cuda with disc brakes and Koni shocks. I put the super six 2 bbl setup on it, using a carb from a '68 318. Much more responsive than the smog carb. That car was a blast to drive!

This is awesome to see! I just bought a basket case that is very similar to this and shows me what mine will look like when done. It's a 1968 Valiant 200, 2 door, white w/blue interior (but someone rattle canned it dark blue & removed the interior/engine/trans/did fenderwell headers - it was a former race car). The fun part is that it was factory ordered as follows: 318, 4 speed, front discs, 8 & 3/4 w/3.23's. I am really excited to bring it back to life. I'd love to connect with Brian to get some details on his to help me bring mine back to original specs. I hope to see more of this Valiant in future videos, thanks!

My first car was a blue '68 2-ddoor valiant 100. Thanks for the memories! Looks like the driver's door was from a '67.

I've got a '76 sedan sporting the iron-case A-833 OD, have the reverse light on the dash, 318 (slight cam, Edelbrock intake/TQ), dual exhaust (using NOS "Turbo" mufflers from the '80's a guy gave me years ago), 11.75" rotors w/ the reinforced hubs, 8.75/3.23 SG (489 case), HD cooling (26" radiator, shroud, clutch fan) , 340 torsion bars, front sway bar, offset UCA with the rears clocked 180 degrees, sway bar (poly bushings), HD leafs with poly eye bushings, rear sway bar from an '89 Gran Fury (modified to fit), American Racing Vectors from an '80 Aspen RT, power trunk popper from a 5th Avenue, passenger side mirror, certified speedo, A38 oil cooler & trans cooler, Sun Pro tach, the "Sport" wheel (from a Chrysler Laser), an analog VDO clock from an Audi , etc...most of the stuff is junkyard finds, refurbished, part-outs. Extra stuff I held onto and then I got the Valiant for $0 because the original owner thought I'd love the car. I love stuff like this because I perfectly understand the fun. Have other cars that are more "Impressive," but these type of cars are low stress, fun, people always smile & wave and my dog can ride and not have to worry- unlike in the GT350 or the A8L

I have a 69 Valiant 100 I'm currently doing the bodywork on. It's factory blue on blue but I keep thinking of painting it white and keeping the blue interior. A few of my friends think I'm crazy but seeing this one reinforces my thoughts.

Love the car!!! Around here where I live, the young people are so impressed with themselves at the stupid loud noise they make with their throw away jellybean cars. Here we have NO enforcement of exhaust or inspections so no limit on noise or colored headlights or purple turn signals!

And yet we were swapping engines, transmissions and rear ends at the age of 18. If you think about it, we're a dying breed.

That's a really nice car, well done mods. If you want a bit more power you can install a 2 barrel carb from a late 70s slant 6. It will give you an extra 15 hp. or so. The stock exhaust was restrictive so you can replace if with a 3" pipe for better performance. Thanks for an excellent video.

That is awesome and appealing in it's simplicity! I think the heater may have even been an option at that point.

I have a 1967 Dart post 225. Love the thing. I was thinking about swapping in a 360 but instead I think I'll just install a turbo. Doesn't necessarily have to be fast. I just want some passing power and make it up a hill with some decent speed. Cool car and thanks for sharing

My dad had a pea green 68 four door in the early to mid 70's, 3 on the tree standard transmission with no options other than power brakes. My dad also had the 69 Dodge Dart slant 6 with auto (larger 6 cyl). He preferred the smaller 6 for economy. Great cars. They last forever (Toyota and Honda did not have anything on these cars for being dependable, low maintenance, long life cars).

It was not completely stripped down because it had the AM radio, that was a $62 option back then, AM radio was awesome back in the day.
