Project Mopar: Cam Lifter Failure Rears it's Ugly Head

Fresh rebuilt 340 with vintage NOS Ultradyne cam and new Summit Racing lifters. The cam was properly broken in with break-in oil and Lucas Zink additive. Only 200 miles on this motor and we have lifter failure.
This has been an industry wide problem for some time now, so you'd think that suppliers would take nessesary steps to right the wrong. I guess not.

Right!?! And this actually makes three times. The second mishap was self inflicted. Ugh!

Nope they won't take care of it and make it right. That sucks dude.

Crower had some lifters with a groove to give more oiling. Not sure if they are still being made. Also racer brown used to only sell/use Johnson brand lifters not sure if those are any good now. Its looking like roller cams are the only safer bet for mopars!

Crower cam saver lifters is the name of the crower lifters. Also in the past people in the mopar community had good luck with melling and engine tech lifters. This is only from what I've heard no personal experience.

That stinks. New parts are junk lately.

Right.... so much "new" stuff is total junk right out of the box. Unreal!
