Yep, the red would have been a mistake. I toyed with black, silver, white etc. I couldn't get line tape in the right grey so hence just used paint.

I'm always impressed at how well you maintain your boat inside and out. I don't know many men who would clean out their kitchen cupboards the way you have and I do enjoy watching you prepare your holiday meals. I live alone too and do exactly the same for myself. That's strong old paint and not prone to blooming or anything (unlike oils) once it's on it's on.

It looks brilliant JL - well worth taking the time to prep even though it’s time consuming and laborious. The grey is a really nice contrast to the shades of Blue. Are you pleased with it?

I spent plenty of time mulling over which way to go and I'm very glad I went with the grey. I think it's 99% perspiration....

I've had a lot of luck trying the blue/green painters tapes/ frog tape etc rather than the bog standard whitetape, much less bleeding under the edge without all the effort, fwiw.

I haven't had much experience with those - one time I had a special one, don't know what, and it was a nightmare, kept tearing and was too sticky. At least I know what I'm getting with the basic stuff.
